Losing weight is a big challenge for most people. In order to be classified under the society's definition of beauty, many people suffer from tremendous hardships of losing weight. Some people would go for crash diets while some would go for diet pills which agitate the digestive system and pose a threat to one's health. But these are absolutely unnecessary. Over the years, losing weight meant pain and not eating. But this should not have been the case. Dieting is eating smartly and not depriving oneself from food. Here are the 10 ways to eat smart.

First, add a serving of fruit or vegetable in your daily meal. Slowly increase the serving until you are comfortable with eating fruits and vegetables as part of your regular your diet.

Second, avoid supersizing your meals when ordering at a restaurant or a fast food chain. This will only supersize your body!

Third, be sure to eat breakfast. A heavy breakfast helps because it prevents you from getting hungry the whole day; thus, prevent you from eating unnecessary food between meals.

Fourth, use a salad plate instead of a dinner plate. Salad plates can carry less food than dinner plates. But it gives you the illusion that they can carry the same amount of food. That is because salad plates and dinner plates are generally of the same size but with different capacities.

Fifth, start eating food with low calories first. When eating out, start your meal by eating salads, soups, and vegetables. Starchy food and meat should be at the bottom of the list. That way, you eat less of high calorie foods because you are already full from eating all of the low calorie ones.

Sixth, acquire a food journal. This would help you keep track of the food you eat. By being able to plan your meals ahead of time, you will be able to manage your weight easier.

Seventh, acquire calories from food not from drinks. Fruit juices have lots of calories as well. Instead of taking them as beverages, eat fresh fruits and eat them as a part of your meal.

Eighth, avoid drinking sodas. Sodas contain high amounts of calories. Plus, they can make you hungrier because they are slightly acidic. By simply removing sodas from your regular diet, you will lose a few considerable pounds.

Ninth, do spice up your veggies if you don't like eating vegetables. You can add flavor and spices to common vegetables in order to make them more delicious. Plus, you can take vegetable soups instead of fresh vegetables if you would prefer it.

Tenth, never skip meals. If you skip lunch, you tend to become a binge eater at night.
