There have been lots of medical advancements over the last fifty years or so. Many of them have come about because of testing and experimenting. The main drive behind any of the advancements is that of people. The human health is something that many people take very seriously, especially when their own health or that of a close relative or friend comes under attack and there is nothing that the doctors can do.

The search for the cure to an incurable disease drives many people in the medical field. They understand what it means to someone to feel helpless and hopeless when they are told that there is nothing that can be done for them. They understand the hurt that comes to them and their family.

One of the many pieces of equipment that came about in the medical field over the last 50 years is that of the gamma camera. This camera is most notable for saving the lives of many breast cancer victims.

The camera was a great solution to the breast cancer issue that was taking so many lives. The cancer was not being detected soon enough. Once the camera was invented and put into use, doctors were able to spot the cancer in the breast a lot sooner and that made it possible for treatment to begin a lot sooner. Because of this, patient's lives were being saved. It was as many doctors had thought. The earlier they could detect cancer the more likely the person would be able to survive the cancer.

This is one example out of many about how the real medical work is done in the lab by scientist who are constantly finding ways to improve the medical field by making new equipment or tools that make the doctor's job easier and gives them the resources that they have not had in the past. This makes the whole human health better in the long run.

However, as good as the medical industry is, they cannot cure some of the bad choices being made all of the time by us. Because of the pace of our society, we often eat fast food, which has been shown to be unhealthy for our bodies in many regards. We also do not get the sleep that we need. We, as a society, have thrown a curve ball at our medical industry that they may not be able to solve.
