Keeping yourself from getting flu is the best thing to do. When you're trying to stay healthy, prevention is important.

Avoid spreading the germs which start flu with a tickle, prickle or itch. You can prevent flu by covering your mouth, nose and that sneeze. The tiny droplets released into the air are responsible for the spread of the contagious virus.

A collection of symptoms characterizes influenza. This includes fever, muscle aches, chills, extreme tiredness, headache, dry cough, sore throat, runny nose, stomach symptoms and chest discomfort.

Your immune system must be kept in good condition when staying healthy. The influenza vaccine is the best way to avoid getting the flu. At any time especially throughout the season the vaccine is made available.

It protects you by making your body build antibodies. Vaccination is best before peak flue season to allow time for your body to develop antibodies.

Your immune system is exposed to the virus by the vaccine shot or nasal spray. The vaccine is recommended particularly as protection from getting really sick from flue complications.

A milder case of flue is possible in some people in spite of the vaccine. You can have annual vaccinations especially if you are in regular contact with many people. Whenever possible, you should avoid crowds during peak flu season.

Flu can spread easily in schools, office buildings, auditoriums, public transport and care centers where people congregate.

Diseases and common infections, including influenza, can be prevented by good hygiene. One of the tips to prevent flu is scrubbing germy hands and soaping away germs.

Good hand washing should be practiced often. The spread of germs can be stopped by thorough and frequent hand washing. You are also most likely to get the flu by rubbing your eyes, nose or mouth.

The chances of having viruses delivered directly to them can be reduced by keeping your hands away from your face. You can even prevent the spread of flu by keeping your home clean.

It is also very important that you get rest and proper nutrition. Your immune system gets the boost from healthy diet, exercise and enough sleep. You can become vulnerable to infections when immunity is lowered by poor diet and poor sleep.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein should be included in your diet. Vitamin E and other antioxidant like A. C and B0complex vitamins and minerals enhance immune response.

Varied amounts of sleep from person to person are required for a healthy immune system. Infection is not prevented by exercise; it boosts your immune system, though. Walking, biking, aerobics are some forms of exercise you can do regularly.

Mature populations can be seriously infected by the illness. Particularly when having chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease and asthma, flu can cause serious complications.

Even at the height of the season, you can prevent flu by staying healthy and protecting yourself.
