People have to cope with the experience of a headache from time to time, whether they are at home, on the job or out trying to have a good time. There are also cases of when headaches can develop and become extremely severe to the point where they become almost unbearable and can even affect a person's regular functionality. Tension headaches as the name implies starts from extensive stress on the body, whether physical or emotional and normally the muscles in the body to become tightened. Environmental factors such as social relationships related to issues with family, friends, work and school can be a main contributing factor to stress.

Person who suffer from tension headaches usually express that headaches last for extended periods of time, ranging from half a hour of the day to several days. Episodic tension headache refers to headaches that start gradually and over the course of time occur more often than usual. As stress headaches occur more often, then the intensity of the headache also escalates. Stress headaches generally also causes discomfort to both sides of the head and may have a pulsating effect.

Stress can also lead to disturbed concentration; this can affect an individual's ability to performance on a daily basis whether at the workplace or at school when a lot of attentiveness is required. When someone experiences a stress headache they normally become very irritable, and the least of situations can sometimes make them easily distressed. Continued stress headaches also cause other muscles in the body to ache and makes it difficult for persons to fall asleep and even when they do it is hard to receive adequate amounts of sleep, even when they are really tired. If this continues over time the person will start to suffer from what is knows as chronic fatigue.

The lack of proper sleep, doesn't give the body time to unwind and so irritability prolongs as well as a decline in the body's daily performance. Persons who are on the job for extended periods of time usually put stress on the body, this can possibly lead to depression and anxiety which also results in headaches. Stress headache victims sometimes experience sensitivity to light and sound, where the slightest encounter of these elements cause the headache to become worsened where the pain is even felt in the front, and top side of the head. Trauma from an accident can also cause stress headaches, head injuries experienced frequently lead to high stress levels and impact on head can lead to further head pain.

It is usually best to use natural methods of dealing with stress related headaches that can eventually cause fewer amounts of headaches. But there are also various medications that can be used to lower the pain in certain instances of severity. Natural methods are; Stress management training ,regular massage therapy and exercise which all help to relax the muscles, increase blood flow, release toxins from the body and helps to give persons a sound mind and calm body. These practices help to eliminate thoughts that spurred stress in the first place.
