Severe Hiatal Hernia Symptoms

Hiatal hernia is a dysfunction which occurs in the body when an organ protrudes pass the muscle walls that are there to keep that organ intact and inside the body. This protrusion emerges within the upper section of the abdomen into the thorax through a tear in the diaphragm.

There are two main kinds of hiatal hernia, one is par esophageal hernia, which arises when the upper section of the stomach protrudes through the hiatus permanently and sits next to the esophagus. The other is known as sliding hernias which causes the gastro-esophageal junction and a section of the upper section of the abdomen to slide up through the hiatus and into the chest area.

Dealing with hiatal hernia can get complicated because a lot of individuals who have developed it show no signs of having the illness, then afterwards they start to experience symptoms and by this time it has more likely become very serious. As well as If your stool turns dark and tarry, if your heart beat becomes abnormal and you start to feel dizziness or difficulty breathing, then these are also indications of severity. If these symptoms show up you may have to do a series of test to properly examine your body.

There are several practices that can increase your chances of getting hiatal hernia. For instance increased stress on the body, due to overworking, lack. Search for ways of minimizing your stress level at home, work or school. Your genetics could also play an essential role in you being diagnosed with hiatal hernia, if it is known to exist within your family then you should think about doing a test and start to steps to adjust your way of life so that you lower your risk of getting it.

Unhealthy lifestyle habits like smoking, increases your chances of being affected by this illness also obesity and the tension that comes with constipation. Abstain from trying to do anything which puts your body under more strain such as lifting up heavy objects or constantly bending over. Also try to exercise more regularly and stay clear of fried and fatty foods, too much alcohol and food that contain caffeine.
