Bad breath, or halitosis, is a condition experienced by many people that can be caused by things such as: stress, mouth dryness, eating smelly foods, and so on. Take note that the main cause of bad smelling breath, produced by the factors mentioned previously is odor causing bacteria that live in the individual's mouth. If you are one of the people who aim to get fresh breath, these remedies for halitosis will surely be great help:

A. Baking soda for brushing

A lot of people may not be aware that baking soda can be used for brushing teeth. It is, in fact, considered a halitosis natural remedy. This does not mean that you have to replace your toothpaste with it, but, what you can do is to brush teeth first with baking soda, and then, follow with a salty or warm water rinse of your mouth. Next, brush again with toothpaste, and voila: you'll reduce bad smelling breath.

B. Dental Floss

Another strategy to help an individual get fresh breath is to floss the teeth daily. You see, there may be food particles stuck in between the teeth that are missed by the tooth brush, and those particles normally lead to halitosis. One of the remedies for halitosis that take away the gunk in between your teeth is flossing.

C. Tongue Scraper

A big number of individuals may have no idea that bacteria also live in the tongue. A halitosis natural remedy, therefore, is to clean your tongue daily. How? Well, you should purchase a tongue scraper, or a toothbrush with a scraper, so you can scrape off the bacteria that cause bad smelling breath out of your tongue and out of your mouth.

D. Salt Water

To get fresh breath, some people may think that mouthwash is the only concoction that can do the trick. They don't know that included in the remedies for halitosis is saltwater. Yes, aside from mouth wash, salt water can be used for gargling and rinsing the mouth to get rid of bacteria and mucus.

E. Tea Tree Oil

Another halitosis natural remedy is tea tree oil. You can either add a few drops of that oil to tooth paste, or you can add tea tree oil drops into lukewarm water for gargling. Using that kind of oil as a tooth paste additive or as a special kind of mouth wash will really help reduce bad smelling breath, most especially when used after every meal on a daily basis.

F. Avocado

If you want to get fresh breath, you should also try to add avocadoes in your regular diet. Why? Those avocadoes actually clean the intestines, which, in turn, can result to better digestion. Remember that poor digestion can also be a culprit to your halitosis, thus, if you eat avocadoes frequently, you can start to have fresher breath.

The things discussed above are just a few of the many remedies for halitosis that are worth trying by people who have problems with their breath.
