Yeast infection... the thought of it sends me on an itching frenzy. Women who have this know exactly what I'm talking about, and it's something they'd rather not have. I mean, come on, seriously... you think women don't go looking for the same thing men do? You know what I mean, readers, and I'm not referring to beer bongs and football. Suffering from this can alter one's sex life drastically, and maybe we should try to delve further into what it is and maybe look for a reliable but easy-to-access treatment for yeast infections.

Yeast infection is an irritation of the vaginal area caused by a rapid growth of Candida Albicans, a fungus in the body. Depending on certain conditions, this fungus can reach certain levels of growth where it becomes a rather disturbing presence, causing irritation of the skin, a burning sensation, pus-like discharges and itching in the affected area. Sure, it may seem funny to some seeing a woman scratching her inner thighs in public, but like other diseases such as hemorrhoids, this can be very embarrassing to the victim, and in turn, you if you happen to go through such an ordeal. In order to get rid of yeast infection, you must take note of the following tips:

1. Eat some yogurt. Yogurt contains bacteria like bifidus and acidophilus that helps fight off yeast, and can be applied as a topical solution as well. For vaginal infections, yogurt should be applied with your fingers, so as to soothen out the sensation. Take note, use only plain yogurt, not flavored ones. We don't want them ants and other sweet-toothed pests riding up your leg just so they can get a taste of what you got hiding under your skirt. Other supplements which contain lactobacilii may also prove to be helpful. You can welcome Yakult back into your life, you big kid you.

2. Garlic is another big help when it comes to yeast infection, and should be used as a suppository when it comes to deep-seated vaginal infections. For the outer area, you need to peel off a clove then rub it. Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of "fajina de ajos (which strangely sounds like a Mexican soup or something)."

3. Acquire some Propolis extract. This is also used to treat yeast infection in the mouth. Make sure you are not allergic to it, by spreading just a little amount on your skin. If some rash appears, then you could just resort to the two mentioned above, but if everything remains fine in the next 24 hours then get some extract and apply it to your whole tongue. Keep your mouth open, don't swallow it and let it stay for a minute or two before washing it with water.

Use either home treatment for yeast infections which you can apply to further decrease any irritation and getting rid of them once and for all. I'm pretty sure the hubby will be quite happy with the end result, especially if he's a fond lover of garlic (I kid, I kid).
