If you are one of the millions of Americans who suffer with chronic pain, you know that it is a problem that affects every single aspect of your day: from the time you get up to the time you go to bed, and even while you sleep (or don't sleep)! Many physicians approach pain management with invasive surgeries and potentially-addicting drug regimens; but if these courses of treatment makes you uneasy or if you have already been through it all yet are still suffering, there are other options available to you. Is now the time to finally take control?

Acupuncture

This treatment originated in the Far East and has been in constant use for thousands of years. Why is it still around even with all the modern medical "miracles" that are available today? Because it's simple and it works! Acupuncture treatments are given by either specially-trained physicians or chiropractors and are used to treat a number of sources for chronic pain, including:

* Back
* Neck
* Spine
* Shoulders
* Hip
* Knees
* Carpal Tunnel
* Sciatica
* And more

The principle behind acupuncture is a simple one: energy (known as "chee) travels throughout the body as well as over the surface of the body in a series of channels called meridians. Meridians act like rivers, carrying essential nutrients and oxygen to all body systems and helping to maintain a healthy balance. When those channels are disrupted in any way, healthy chee movement is disrupted elsewhere, resulting in pain.

Acupuncture uses tiny needles (measuring the width of a human hair in size) to stimulate the meridians and reestablish proper flow. Treatments take only 30 minutes or less and offer an effective pain management solution for many.

PENS Treatment

Similar in spirit and practice to acupuncture, PENS was developed in the late 1970's for stand-alone treatment or for use in conjunction with traditional acupuncture techniques. These needles are even finer than those used in acupuncture and use battery-operated stimulators at varying degrees of frequency for even better results. Many doctors who use PENS report success rates of anywhere between 80 and 85 percent in relieving chronic pain due to sciatica and lower back troubles.

Acupuncture and PENS treatments are not a one-time deal. Patients need to commit to a series of 10 separate treatments or more to receive optimal benefit.

There are alternatives to traditional invasive or potentially-addictive solutions favored by mainstream medicine. If you are ready to take control of your pain management once and for all, do a little research then ACT!
