Experiencing hemorrhoids is painful and very unpleasant. A lot of people are quite secretive about it, and would not want to approach a doctor to consult about the situation. This is not bad as long as you know certain stages that hemorrhoids would undergo. By knowing the stages that it will undergo, you would know whether you can still make use or apply certain hemorrhoids treatment procedures at home, or you already need to see a physician about it. It is important that you get more familiar about these stages, since you do not want your situation to become more complicated than it is.

Treating hemorrhoids at home is actually a good start in fighting this unpleasant condition. However, its effectiveness would depend on the severity of the hemorrhoids that the sufferer is carrying.

The first stage of having hemorrhoids would actually start when certain symptoms are felt by the sufferer. Such symptoms would include mild itching of the anus. Aside from that, you may also see some black spots of blood in your stools at this stage. During this stage, the hemorrhoid is actually still inside the rectal column; however, mild pain may be felt during bowel movement.

During the second stage, pain would be felt during bowel movement, but it will subside after a couple of hours. This usually indicates that the hemorrhoid is prolapsed during movement, but immediately goes back in after.

Third stage of hemorrhoids would involve greater amounts of pains, which could last longer. At this point the hemorrhoid is prolapsed during movement, but won't go back in itself. If you are willing enough, you can actually push it back in, with your finger.

Fourth stage involves hemorrhoids is prolapsed, and pushing it back with your hand may not work anymore.

During these four stages of hemorrhoids, you can still apply certain treatments at home, but only during the first and second stages of it. A treatment you can consider to make use of is by sitting in a hot water mixed with salt on a day to day basis. This should be done for 10 minutes each time.

Another home treatment you can do is to place a block of ice on the affected area, so as to help in easing out the pain. The best way to prevent it from progressing to stages 3 and 4 though is to eat healthy foods that are rich in fiber. With this, your stool would be easier to pass, which will eventually heal your hemorrhoids.

Take note of these hemorrhoids treatment that you can do at home. However, if the kind of hemorrhoid situation you are experiencing indicates that it is already on the last two stages, you will need to swallow your pride and consult a physician right away.
