Motivating yourself to exercise can be very difficult. It is especially difficult for those who feel tired all of the time.

The trick is that exercise can relieve your sleepiness and give you more energy throughout the day. Once you get up and do it, you will feel much better.

There are a variety of reasons you may feel tired. If you are not getting enough sleep, then you will want to make sure you get enough sleep and then exercising will be much easier for you.

If you do exercise regularly, eat healthily, and get a constant eight hours of sleep a night, but still feel exhausted, you may want to talk to a doctor. There may be another medical issue hidden beneath the surface.

Even if you eat healthily, the timing between means and snacks and your workout can also make a difference. If you have not eaten anything for four hours and hope to go exercise hard, you are mistaken.

If you have not eaten for four hours, try to snack before you go exercise. A simple granola bar or banana can help, but it may not be enough.

It is best if you eat 45 to 90 minutes before you plan to workout. This gives your body some time to digest the food so that you will not have stomach cramps when you are trying to exercise.

Try to eat things that are low in sugar as your body will burn right through the sugar and have little to run on. Complex carbohydrates or carbohydrates, are the best choice.

After a workout it is a good idea to eat protein as your body will need it to rebuild the muscles you just worked on strengthening. These foods can also boost your energy level and lower the time it takes for you to recover from working out.

Eating food within 30 minutes after workout can lend you the most energy as the food will replenish the stores that you used up. The general rule for eating carbohydrates is to eat 0.7 to 1.2 grams of carbohydrate per kilogram of body weight.

A banana has 30 grams of carbohydrate. In addition, you are generally supposed to eat one gram of protein for every three to four grams of carbohydrate.

Peanut butter contains a lot of protein with nine grams of protein for every two tablespoons. Yogurt contains both carbohydrates and protein.

Energy bars are also designed to provide you with nutrients you need after a workout. If you are sure that you are eating properly, your fatigue is probably generated from another area of your workout.

Another possible reason that you are exhausted is that you are over training. If you are over training, you may experience loss of your typical amount of strength, speed, endurance, and so forth.

You may also lose your appetite and the ability to sleep well. Chronic pain, soreness, colds, respiratory infections and so forth can also indicate overtraining.

In addition, if you are overtraining it is much more likely that you will develop an overuse injury such as tendinitis, fatigue, increases in the resting heart rate, irritability, and so forth. With all of these things pounding on you, you will probably experience a loss of desire to exercise as well.

You may want to consider taking a break for a week to simply rest if you have been pushing yourself hard for a long time. After a couple of days, you should feel much better, but you will not have lost any of your previous fitness or strength.

However, if you have not been exercising hard, you need to develop the habit even though you are not used to it. The source of your fatigue is probably due to the fact that you are not used to exercising.

One of the things you can do to help yourself exercise anyway is to make a deal with yourself. For example, tell yourself that if you workout for 40 minutes on the elliptical, you will reward yourself with at 30 minute nap.

Otherwise, you will make yourself go home and do homework instead of taking a nap. Or your reward may be indulging in a piece of cheesecake or something else.

The elliptical is a good exercise tool because it does not have the jarring impact that the treadmill does. As a result, you will not be as tired from exercising.

Exercising offers so many benefits that it will be completely worth it to force yourself to exercise. You will thank yourself later.
