A nature walk can be a very rewarding and fun experience. It is a great opportunity to grow together as a family and learn new things.

One of the most rewarding and fun family activities is taking a walk together. It is an opportunity to talk, get to know each other better, and enjoy nature.

It is a great way for children to expend extra energy and for parents to let go of the stress they have been carrying. You will want to take a stroller in-case a child gets tired of walking, but it can be a very rewarding experience.

Another thing you will want to do before you go is check the weather. Especially if you have small children, you will want to dress appropriately to deal with the weather.

If the weather looks like it is going to be too bad, you will probably want to post pone your nature walk. A walk in raining weather can be as enjoyable if not more enjoyable than a walk in the sun.

Children love to play in puddles and the rain can make the outdoors smell wonderful and look clean. However, you will want to wear jackets, boots, and long pants.

It would not due to begin your family walk only to have your children begin crying because they are cold. That would be a miserable experience.

You will also want to make sure that you take everything that you need. Be sure to take water, diapers, wipes, a cleanup bag for the dog, camera, snacks, and so forth if applicable.

It is very important that you make sure your family stays hydrated during warm weather. Dehydration could put you or your child in the hospital and it could lead to death if it is not take care of.

In addition, children tend to get cranky if they are too hot. You do not want a nice family walk to be tarnished by crankiness.

Make sure your children dress appropriately and drink water on hot days. Diaper wipes are also good for cleaning off dirty children and cooling hot necks and faces.

When you are on your walk, it can be a lot of fun to play "I spy" with your kids. "I spy" will help your children get involved in the nature around them and begin observing things.

This game can teach them to pick out details in their surroundings. As they do this they will see new things that they have never seen before and they will appreciate the beauty.

When you look around you may see deer, frogs, raccoons, birds, and so forth. You may also want to play a game to see who can find a new variety of plant they have not seen before.

You can also help your children to be more observant by pointing out things to your children. When you spy something new, you can use the opportunity to teach your children about it.

While on these nature walks you can also encourage your children to be curious about the world around them and to explore. They may begin to point out things to you that you had not noticed.

It can also be a lot of fun to take notes of the things that you see. When you see something you do not recognize, you may want to go home and look it up.

If your child asked you a question that you did not know the answer to, you may want to go home and look up the answer. You can look up the answers with your children as well.

This will teach them to follow their curiosity to researching and finding an answer to their question. If they keep this curiosity through their teenage years into college, they may become very good in their careers.

It is also a lot of fun to take pictures and document your walk together. Throughout the years you will be able to see how your children grew.

Children also have a lot of fun learning how to take pictures too. Maybe you have a young photographer in your group.

Put the pictures with your journal of the things you saw or create a scrap book. These books will be cherished tremendously when your children grow older.

They will look back with fondness on the family walks. Be sure to take formal pictures, silly pictures, and so forth.

Try to capture the beauty that you see so that it can jog your memory later. Take pictures of everything, see what turns out good, and keep those pictures in your journal or scrapbook for review later with your family.
