There are many people who work full-time. For most of these people, an hour goes in commuting and another for lunch. By the time people get home, it is late and they are exhausted. The though of cooking a meal, or even eating one, is, well, unthinkable. As a result, many people skip meals and may even turn to unhealthy foods. This deadly combination of stress, skipping meals, consuming unhealthy food, and a lack of exercise and sleep is the major reason behind the rise of obesity. Obesity is a disease that is becoming more and more widespread. It has the potential to cause several problems such as heart attacks, high blood pressure, strokes and even some cancers. An obese individual may suffer even more from conditions like arthritis.

For people who are extremely busy, protein drinks are a lifesaver. You can take them wherever you go; to work, college or even the gym. Protein drinks are also very beneficial to people who engage in strength training, weight training or any other heavy activity. Protein is also useful in burning calories. How is this possible? The body burns a good amount of calories when you eat food. This is mostly because of the digestive processes. The liver also plays an important part, as it needs energy to synthesize the amino acids present in protein. Protein has the best food-generated calorie burning rate.

The average individual needs around 1,500 calories daily. But, as far as you are concerned, how many protein drinks should you consume in a day? It all depends on what your goals and objectives are.
-Morning meal
After dinner, an individual goes for the longest time without eating. For this reason, breakfast is viewed as the most important meal. Inspite of this, there are many people who skip breakfast for a variety of reasons. Protein drinks are ideal in such a scenario, as they are easy and quick to make.
-Mid-afternoon or evening snacks
Protein drinks are a suitable choice, if you feel hungry in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening. They are, definitely, a better choice than burgers and fries.
-Weight gain
People involved in bodybuilding and other intensive sports try to get the maximum amount of protein in their daily diet. Most bodybuilders consume three or more protein drinks every day. Protein helps in repairing damaged muscle tissues. For this reason, a post-workout protein drink is considered as the most important.

There are many protein drinks available. However, select those that contain plenty of amino acids. Many people are known to add different ingredients and supplements to protein drinks, to make them look and taste more like smoothies. There are two benefits that can be gained by doing this: you get the required calories and also a fast meal on the run. Some ingredients that are used include protein powder, milk, bananas, berries and peanut butter.

Many experts recommend that the amount of protein that you should consume daily should be between 0.8g and 1g per kilogram of your body weight. A single scoop of protein powder can contain around 15 to 22g of protein. Therefore, it would be advisable to consume just a couple of protein drinks daily.
