If you've hit a plateau in your weight loss program and that scale just won't budge, try these easy weight loss tips to get your diet back on track. You might be eating more than you think you are or perhaps exercising a little less. In any event choose several of these easy weight loss tops and the pounds will start melting off.
The tendency is to fill our plates full, so trick yourself and use a smaller plate. Studies have shown that people judge how much food they've eaten by the size of the plate and how full it is. They feel satisfied on less food piled on a smaller plate, than the same amount of food on a big plate. Changing your plate size can lead to easy weight loss.
Use a salad plate for your dinner plate and you'll automatically eat less. Use a small bowl instead of a soup bowl and you'll cut calories.
The same trick works with drinks. A squat short glass may hold more liquid than a tall skinny one but most people will think they've drunk more when drinking out of the taller glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice before pouring in your drink and save even more calories.
Drink a full 8 ounce glass of water every hour or so during the day. The water will help flush toxins out of your system and help keep you feeling full. If you get bored with the taste of plain water, add a slice of citrus, a strawberry, or slice of peach.
Skipping breakfast leads to low blood sugar mid morning which results in cravings for sugary foods to pump the blood sugar back up. A vicious cycle results and continues throughout the day. Your breakfast should consist of whole grains, a protein source and fruit. It doesn't have to be fancy. A slice of whole wheat toast spread with a tablespoon of low fat peanut butter and an apple will do just fine. Or you could mix 1/2 cup of nonfat cottage cheese with chopped fresh peaches and a couple of whole wheat crackers. Another possibility is a scrambled egg served on an English muffin with a glass of orange juice.
Just these few changes can lead to easy weight loss.
