If you are thin and skinny all your life and if I am to tell you that you can gain weight and become a beach hunk, will you believe me? I don't think your answer will be a resounding no, but perhaps a reserved yes is understandable or else you wouldn't be reading this article.
Good, if you still believe that you can gain weight, then you can. The reason that you are thin is that your metabolic rate is high. Your body burns up all the calories you eat very quickly before they are converted to fat and muscles. So best way that I know of and I have seen many of my clients who have successfully put on weight is by lifting weights to put on muscles.
Oh, you have tried that without and results? You see, when I said lifting weights, I meant doing weight resistance exercises which can build muscles on your overall body frame. In other words, throw small body part exercises such as dumbbell curls and triceps extensions out of the window.
Of course, you must also consume extra calories to feed your muscles for them to grow. If your intake of calories from food is not enough, then you need to consume weight gain supplements as well.
Now, your muscle is about three times the weight of your body fat, so if you gain muscle mass, you will naturally put on weight quickly. The best part is that muscles look good on you and that is why you can look like a beach hunk. Furthermore, because of your low body fat, your muscles will show up pretty fast instead of being hidden under the fat. Don't you want that big chest and six pack abs to show up?
So what are the best weight gaining exercises? We will look at just two of the many weight gaining exercises beginning with the "king of exercises" called barbell squats. You are well advised to look up diagrams or video clips of this exercise performed by credible instructors. This is because the barbell squats will work on many body parts and you will be lifting relatively heavy weights and there is a chance of injury if done incorrectly.
As said earlier, the barbell squats workout many body parts such as your entire lower body, your butt, your core and your back. Because of the intensity of this exercise, you will also naturally produce more growth hormones and testosterone which in turn help your muscles to grow bigger and faster.
Next, put some books or filled water bottles into your back pack, the start doing slow and deliberate pushups. Once you can't do anymore reps, then take off your back pack and do the exercises again until failure.
This exercise workout your entire body and the main muscles worked on are your arms, shoulders, chest, back, abs and your lats! Now can you see the picture? We are doing exercises that can pack on muscles on your entire body frame instead of puny exercises like dumbbell curls which only workout your small muscles like your biceps and your forearms.
Your back, your chest, your butts and thighs are relatively big muscles and when they grow, you will gain weight very quickly. However, remember to eat more, especially protein to feed your muscles and sleep like a pig because your muscles grow during when you are sleeping.
