If you are frustrated with your workout there are a lot of different actions that you can take that may help you get more from your workout. By making some small changes in your workout you may start to feel all of the difference.
First, it could be beneficial to limit your workout to only thirty or forty minutes each day. There are many people that have the tendency to spend an excessively long time at the gym, thinking this is the only way they can have a beneficial workout.
When you stay at the gym or engage in any type of workout for this long the intensity level of your workout will dip. Instead of working out at a lower intensity for a long time try working out at a high intensity for about a half of an hour.
Second, if you are just getting into the habit of exercising you should be taking things slow. Build up your endurance and your strength so that you do not hurt yourself or over exert your body.
It is important to remember to step up your intensity as you get more familiar with your workout. Assessing where your body is physically and how you can get your heart rate into your target heart rate zone is a great way to get through your workout.
Third, you should make sure that you change your diet to make your workouts more beneficial. What you put into your body is going to be as important as what you do during your workout and to the outside of your body.
Cardio workouts and lifting weights both require you to have muscle strength. This means that when your muscles are exerted you have to give them the protein that is required to help them regenerate.
Drinking a whey or a protein shake after you have finished with your workout is a great way to get your muscles the protein that they need. Take the time to prepare your shake before you leave for the gym so you can drink it as soon as you are done exercising.
Fourth, the amount of water that you drink is also going to have an effect on your body. Water takes a couple of hours to absorb into your body, so you want to make sure that you are not drinking just during and before your workout but throughout the day.
Fifth, carbohydrates are also important to be eating. Instead of cutting carbohydrates from your diet you need to make sure that your body has enough carbohydrates to be able to fuel your body throughout your day and your workout.
A banana is a great source of low fiber and high glycemic carbohydrates. When you make a shake for yourself you can easily throw in a banana to add the carbohydrates that you will need to fuel your body.
Sixth, when you are lifting weights you may want to try slow lifting. This type of lifting is different than your traditional lifting but may give your muscles more benefit than lifting traditionally.
When you lift your weight you will want to do so slowly. Then, instead of lowering your weight quickly you want to make sure that you lower it as slowly as you lifted it so that your muscles have to work all the way down as well.
You can determine how many seconds it should take to lift and lower the weight and then count to yourself when you are lifting and lowering. This will help you keep your weight lifting consistent and it will keep your muscles working.
Seventh, as you are starting to lift weights you want to make sure that you start with lighter weights. This will help you to make sure that you have good form as you are lifting and lowering your weights.
Having bad form can be very detrimental to your body. You can injure yourself or strain parts of your back and neck if you are not participating in the workout with the correct form throughout the duration of your exercise.
Finally, you want to make sure that you choose a cardio workout that you enjoy. It will be difficult to find the endurance and the strength to make it through an intense cardio workout if you do not enjoy what you are doing.
When you choose to exercise in a manner that you enjoy you will be able to keep on exercising consistently. Take the time to find a form of exercise that you are able to enjoy and your workout will be better off because of it.
