One of the primary reasons that people workout is because of the difference it can make in their physical appearance. A lot of people who work out want to lose weight, develop a thinner figure, have more toned muscles, and so forth.

People who are stronger are more graceful and give off a feeling of ease that makes other envious. If you are one who want to lose weight, there are many things you can do, but running is one of the options that can help you lose the most weight.

Whether you run outside or in the privacy of your home on a treadmill, it is completely up to you. Running not only works out your legs, but it can work out your arms as well.

If you consistently run on your treadmill, you will notice that you are constantly pumping your arms to help your legs keep moving. This is important because as you lose weight, if you lose it fairly quickly, you may notice some flabby skin on your arms.

This is a common woe among women who lose weight. With extra weight, your skin had to grow to cover the fat and provide enough storage space.

When you lose weight, the skin often fails to shrink back to its normal size, and it will simply flop around.
The best option for treating flabby arms is surgery.

However, you can prevent the development of flabby arms by not losing weight too quickly or by not gaining weight through exercise. Pumping your arms on the treadmill can help with both of these things.

One of the surgical procedures you can undergo is brachioplasty. Brachioplasty can be performed on a local or general anesthetic.

As a result of the procedure, you will probably experience some bruising and swelling, but this should last no longer that a few weeks before it goes away. You may also have to wear a bandage or a special compression garment for a couple of weeks while your arms heal.

After surgery you will want to make sure that you start exercising as soon as you can so that you do not gain weight again or your flabby arms will come right back. You will not be able to exercise until your arms fully heal, which is about six weeks.

Brachioplasty is simply a skin tightening procedure. However, sometimes small amounts of fat can also be removed.

The biggest disadvantage of this option is that you will be left with a scar. The scar will be long, heavy, and crooked from the elbow to the armpit.

In some women's minds, flabby arms and a long scar may be equally unattractive. This procedure cannot be done on those who have had a mastectomy or who have an excess sweat formation.

For those who need to have fat removed as well as their skin tightened, lipoplasty is the best option. However, you should know that if you have more than 2 inches of flabby skin and fat, you will still have some under your arms when the procedure is over.

In a lipoplasty, the surgeon will cut the skin above the elbow. Then, the fat will be suctioned out.

As you can imagine, this will result in bruising and swelling that will last for several weeks. After three weeks, the swelling should have gone away, so you will be able to see what size your arms are post-surgery.

Keep in mind that you may not see the best results until a couple months after the surgery. It can be hard to wait through the pain without seeing any results, but it must be done.

Another potential surgery you could undergo would be liposculpture. Liposculpture is not quite as intense as lipoplasty, but it is basically a small scale form of lipoplasty.

Liposculpture is fairly new and it is a medium option for those who are seeking help. In this procedure, only the problem areas are targeted.

Only small amounts of fat are removed to reduce damage, but to help rebuild the structure of your arms. Many people opt for lipsculpture after lipoplasty if lipoplasty did not quite fix the problem.

This option is usually very painful, as is lipoplasty. In addition, both of these procedures are very expensive.

However, if you really want to get rid of your flabby arms in a faster manner than waiting, this may be the option for you. Many people have felt satisfied with their results and it has helped them to develop a healthier lifestyle of maintaining a healthy weight.
