Once you enter the adult world, you find that it is a very competitive and fast paced world. You also discover that in order to be successful you must have a certain amount of creativity and drive.
No matter what career you are in, creativity can help improve your situation and may even give you a pay raise. Unfortunately, many people who reach the adult world realize this and then realize that they have forgotten how to be creative.
This may have been because creativity was not encouraged when they were children. There are a variety of things that hinder creativity, such as sitting in front of the television every day.
While the television tells the story, it also provides pictures so that a child does not have to make up the pictures on his or her own. The habit of watching the television is one that encourages the mind to be lazy.
This explains why there is a difference between allowing your children to watch the fairy tales and reading the fairytale books to your children. Reading the fairytale books to your children can have a profound impact on children.
They teach moral values, but they can also help your child succeed in the adult world through encouraging them to develop and expand their creativity. By reading fairy tales, you could be preserving a gift that will improve their lives even after you cannot help them anymore.
However, if you are already an adult and you have discovered that you need to develop your creativity again there are several things you can do to work on building it. You may find it very difficult at first because it is easier to expand your imagination if you are child.
The first thing you will want to do is slow down your life. If you are going too fast you will not stop to find inspiration in various things.
You will not see how beautiful nature is or observe interactions between people. These things often inspire creativity in successful adults.
If you are a parent and you want to protect the creativity of your children, be sure that you do not over schedule their lives. This will allow them time to play and to use their imaginations.
The second thing you will want to do is turn of entertainment electronics. This could include your cell phone if you are addicted to the games that have on it.
Anything that has moving pictures, sounds, bells, whistles, joysticks, keyboards, music and so forth needs to eliminated as a distraction. Instead of spending time with technology, try to spend some time with children.
By observing children, you can often pick up on some of their creative juices. This may help you get started on the path to creativity.
As you begin to develop your creativity and imagination, use it. It will not be able to expand unless you use it.
In addition, your children will not know that you are bad at creative things and they will see your example. They will see how you are creative and they will try to become more creative themselves.
You can play imaginative games to enhance your creativity even more. For example, you can play the "If I Were..." game, which is usually played in the car.
You start by saying "If I were a _____," and allow your children to fill in the blank. Then, continue the story leaving periodic blanks for them to fill in.
Or the child who finishes the sentence can make up a new sentence with a blank for someone else to finish in. As you pass the story around you will probably come up with a slightly disconnected, funny, and creative story.
The more creative you become, the easier it will be to make a more sensible and amazing story. In addition to building your creativity, these kinds of activities will allow you to build strong and loving relationships with your children.
You may want to try to improve your artist talent at the same time as your creativity. Pull out the art supplies including construction paper, crayons, glue sticks, markers, blocks, LEGOS, colored pencils, scissors, and so forth.
Your children will probably come up with some pretty amazing things. You might struggle at first, but you will be able to improve your imagination, creativity, and your artist talent over time.
This will be a very worthwhile quest. You will surprise yourself, and your boss, with what you can do when you have an imagination.
