Time to Get off the Couch and Exercise

You know when you aren't being as active as you should be. You don't feel good, you are crabby, you don't sleep well, and you eat too much and then beat yourself up over eating too much. Living a sedentary life will never allow you to look your best, feel your best or be your best. Get off the couch, get to the gym and start taking control of your life!

The first thing you have to do is give yourself permission to feel great and look great. That sounds easy, but for some people it is terrifying. There was a lady in town that was so large she kept fruit snacks and Twinkies in her bedroom so when her children woke up in the morning she wouldn't have to get out of bed to feed them breakfast! The time is now to take your life by the bootstraps and become a better version of yourself.

Start small. Lay off the fast food. If you do nothing else for a week or two, stop eating fast food! Everything from fast food restaurants is full of sugar, sodium, fat and calories; even the salads. Did you know the average fast food salad dressing packet has almost 200 hundred calories and 20 grams of fat? A bran muffin at McDonalds has 330 calories! Who needs it? Stay away from fast food. Make a sandwich, have fruit and veggies with it

The greatest single thing you can do for yourself is to get active. Start with walking the kids to school if possible. Park the furthest out in the parking lots and walk a little, take the stairs instead of the elevator. When you get home from work, take a ten-minute break and see the neighborhood. When you get feeling good about things it is time to join a gym! Classes are great motivators and the instructors are wonderful at getting your moving! Don't worry if you aren't the best in the class or maybe you are even the worst. You are doing it for you, not them anyway!

If you are in moderate to good shape try an Austin boot camp class for a good butt whipping! Talk about getting you moving. Boot classes are the greatest way to jump-start your metabolism, get your heart rate up and have fun at the same time. You will be pushed in ways never before imagined. Best of all you will enjoy renewed energy, the ability to sleep at night, overall happier moods and a transformed body. Life is good when you get off the couch and start moving!
