It is common to feel restless at a desk job after working out. However, there are several ways you can relieve this restlessness.

There are many benefits of working out on a stationary bike. For example, through stationary biking on a regular basis you can become stronger, faster, and leaner.

You can also become more flexible and develop better balance. In addition, you can become more energized, get better sleep at night, and relieve many of the symptoms of mild or medium depression if you are suffer from this condition.

Regularly working out on the stationary bicycle can also help you develop more self confidence which can lead to more success in school, the workplace, and in other areas of life. Working out on a regular basis on the stationary bike can significantly improve your health as it will boost your immune system and prevent or slow a variety of diseases.

However, in addition to all of these benefits, regularly working out on stationary bike can also make you restless if you work in an office at a desk job. This is a common affliction of many athletes, but not necessarily a bad one.

This restlessness will cause you to get up and to stretch or get small amounts of exercise throughout the day as well. While you probably do not have the option of leaving the office for a small walk or for a few lifts at the gym, there are many simple exercises you can do to relieve the restlessness you feel.

These exercises do not require any extra equipment so you will not have to worry about having your cubicle look like a small gym. The first thing you may want to try is performing some squats.

Simply stand up and push you office chair away. Position your feet shoulder width apart and then bend your knees as though you were going to sit down again and then slowly stand back up again.

Be sure to keep your weight on your heels throughout the exercise to get the full benefit out of the squat. Make sure that you lower yourself so that you thighs are parallel to the chair before you stand up again to make sure you are really working your muscles.

Repeat this exercise several times to remove the restlessness from your legs. If your legs still feel restless, you may want to try some simple wall sits if there is an open wall in your cubicle.

Make sure that the wall of the cubicle can really hold your weight though, you do not want to cause the wall to fall over onto the next desk. That would be really embarrassing.

It is also important that you bend your knees to a complete 90 degree angle to get the full benefit out of the wall sit. Do not place your hand on your legs, but fold them in front of you or do something else with them.

Try to hold this position for a longer period of time every day. By the time you cannot hold this position any more, the restlessness should definitely be removed from your legs.

However, if you do not have a wall you can perform wall sits on, you may want to try the traditional lunge. The traditional lunge may seem like a boring, old exercise, but even if it is it can help remove the restlessness out of your legs.

If you need an exercise that will target your calves more than your thighs, you may want to try calf raises. To perform a calf raise, simply stand next to your desk and place a hand on it to make sure that you do not lose your balance.

Then, raise your heels off of the floor and slowly lower yourself back down to the ground. If you are the nosy type, you can even peek into the other cubicles around you to see what others are doing.

However, if you want to build good relationships with your coworkers, you should not do this. When you get tired of doing calf raises, you may want to try toe raises.

Toe raises are less conspicuous and they can help remove the restlessness as well. All you have to do is stand up and life your toes while standing.

If you need a drink, you may want to walk on your heels on your way to the drinking fountain. This can be a fun exercise to see if anyone notices.

Another thing you may want to do are some regular crunches or pushups to work out the rest of your body. These exercises can help survive a day of restlessness at work.
