Jogging is an obvious activity that you can do with friends, and the best part is that it is free. Many women start jogging clubs with their neighbors so everyone can get involved and motivate each other to be active.

All you have to do is set up a meeting time and place and each morning the group can get together and start the jog. It is a great way to make friends, socialize, and get healthy.

If you do not like jogging, you can sign up for an aerobics class at your local gym or fitness center. Most fitness centers have many different classes scheduled at different times to accommodate varying work, school, and family schedules.

You can find a friend and sign up for the class together so you feel more obligated to go, even when you do not want to. Most classes as are free as long as you have a membership to the fitness center.

Among the many classes that you can take is a step class. This is a great cardiovascular activity that can help you burn over 300 calories in an hour.

The instructor tells you what to do, and they typically shake things up a bit every session so you do not get bored with the routine every day. Do not be fooled by the colorful steps, it is a rigorous fitness activity that will leave you exhausted and feeling good when you finish the routine.

You can also take a Pilates class, which is a great thing to do with friends. This is not as fast paced as step so you can actually hold a conversation with your friend while you are working out, which makes the time go by a whole lot faster.

Yoga is a common thing for women to do together, but more and more men are starting to take the classes at their local fitness center. If you do not want to pay for a member ship because you only plan to take one class and not use the rest of the facility, it may be cheaper to just hire a private instructor.

This may seem expensive, but if you split the cost with a friend or two and do a small group session, you will save a lot of money and be more comfortable in a more private setting. It also allows you to get more one-on-one interaction with the instructor so you can maximize your workout.

Biking is another great activity that can be done with friends. Many people like to find a friend to train together when they bike, especially if they are preparing to compete in a race or triathlon.

Having someone ride next to you better simulates a race, and pushes you to try harder to keep up with or compete with your friend. If road biking is not your style, you can also try mountain biking for a more exhilarating ride on a trail.

It is best to go mountain biking with a partner because if there is some sort of an accident you have someone who is able to help you or go and get help. When you go, you and your buddy should make sure you wear protective gear and pack a tire repair kit in your bag.

Alternatively, rock climbing is a great outdoor sport that requires you to work really hard so you burn more calories. For this activity you need at least one partner in order to be safe.

You and your buddy will rely on another person's weight in order to repel up the cliff, so make sure it is with someone you trust. You should also make sure you wear protective gear to reduce scratches and bruises.

There are also adult league sports that you and your friends can get involved with. Community parks and recreation have league sports like basketball, softball, and flag football that you can sign up for to keep active, make friends, and have fun.
