When it comes to planning a princess party you may feel overwhelmed with the many things that you have to do. One of the biggest concerns about the party may be what to serve the little princesses.
Many children are picky and expect you to provide other types of food if they do not like what you serve. In addition, you probably would like to have the food follow the princess related theme.
Of course, you probably already have the cake taken care of. There are hundreds of different Disney princess cake designs that you can choose from.
If you have not chosen the cake yet, it is a good idea to let your daughter decide on the final design. Its her party after all and she may have a preference about the flavor.
If the local stores do not have the flavor and design you want, you may want to make your own cake in the shape of a castle in the correct flavor. Cakes can be quite messy, so instead of making a mess at the special princess party with a knife, cut the cake with a piece of string or wire.
Cupcakes are also a nice alternative to cake as you can simply give everyone one without having several girls wait for you to cut enough pieces. You will need to serve some kind of drink with the cake.
One of the best options is a pretty, pink princess punch. Everyone knows that the ultimate princess color is pink, so you may want that color to be your theme.
In order to make a pretty, pink princess punch simply mix some strawberry sherbet in some ginger ale. This both looks fantastic and tastes delicious, but is quite easy to prepare.
If you want to serve some lunch before you serve the cake, a good option are dainty princess sandwiches. Make a variety of sandwiches and use a cookie cutter in the shape of a heart to cut the sandwiches out.
The variety will cater to your crowd, but if you want to stick with the pink theme, you may want to put lunch meat and strawberry cream cheese on the sandwiches. There are also other pink colored fillings that you can make the sandwiches with.
For a side, strawberries are a good choice. To make these strawberries special, dip them in white chocolate and call them strawberry diamonds.
Another good side is pretzels. Again, dip these pretzels in white chocolate and then sprinkle them in pink and red sprinkles.
Call this snack princess pretzels. Then, you have to have some kind of food to represent the prince as well.
Set a bowl of chocolate kisses on the table and label them 'Prince Chocolate Kisses.' If you have not planned enough desserts already, you may want to have the young princesses decorate a Queen of Hearts sugar cookie.
This activity may be too messy for the girls in their princess dresses, but a princess movie should not be. A movie is a common element of birthday parties and it is a great way to get the girls settle down in one area so that you can clean up and set up for the next activity.
Be sure to serve a snack with the movie. Popcorn, chips, or pretzels are all good ideas.
However, make sure you serve them in some kind of princess bowl to keep with the theme. Many party stores carry princess utensils.
Of course, you must not forget the strawberry ice cream to be served with the cake. Strawberry ice cream is a delicacy that every princess must have.
Even though you may want to prepare a lot of food to be read for their sometimes large appetites, kids often do not have large appetites when they get excited. Be sure to not become offended or upset if the children do not eat your food.
It is probably not because they did not like it, but simply that they are excited by the other activities. This is probably a good thing as the more sugar a child eats, the more energetic they will become.
At a party, this may be hard to handle. Be sure to plan healthier foods if you do not want to deal with all of the sugar rushes.
In addition, make sure that you allow the children to have fun. Do not rush them from one activity to the next.
It is better not to do something and let the children have fun. As a result, your party will be a success.
