The task of fighting excess fat is a constant battle for most people. One of the worst kinds of fat to those who are very concerned about their appearance is cellulite.
Cellulite is not only excess fat, but it can make your skin look lumpy. It is often stored on the thighs, stomach, and butt.
The lumpy texture occurs when the fat pushes against the connective tissues beneath a person's skin. There are many different things that can affect the likelihood of storing cellulite and your ability to get rid of it.
These things include genes, gender, how much fat you have stored on your body, age, the thickness of your skin, and so forth. Some people have cellulite, but it does not show up because their skin is thicker.
However, you can significantly improve your health if you work to get rid of it. Working out can improve your circulation, metabolism, and so forth.
Exercise is critical if you would rather have muscled, toned body instead of a cellulite ridden one. The most effective exercises for getting rid of fat include walking, jogging and swimming.
Cellulite is commonly causes, or made worse, due to poor circulation. If you can improve your circulation you will be able to reduce the amount of cellulite that your body creates.
Exercise is the best way to help your blood lymphatic circulation improve significantly. As your blood circulates, it will be more effective in washing away toxins and allowing fat to exit the body.
As you exercise, you will also sweat in order to regulate your body temperature. Sweating not only helps burn fat, but it will detoxify your skin as well.
The water exiting your skin will take the harmful toxins with it. In addition to swimming, walking, and jogging, there are many other exercises you can do.
While these generally do not burn fat as fast as the other activities mentioned, they can help you work towards your weight loss goals. The other exercises you may want to consider include bicycling, ellipticaling, rowing, stair stepping, hockey, squash, anaerobic exercises, and squats.
Other sports can also be a lot of fun and help you lose weight. As you perform these exercises, try to keep your abdominal muscles tight so that your lower back is not injured.
There are also individual exercises that you can perform that will target the typical cellulite problem areas. One of these exercises is the lunge.
The lunge should always remain under control and your knee should go over your toes or you could develop an injury. Likewise, you should strive to maintain 90 degree angles in your arms and legs.
Another exercise you may want to include into your exercise routine is the donkey kick. The donkey kick is the perfect exercise for toning the back of your leg.
All you have to do is get in a position on all fours on the floor and then lift your foot out behind you until your leg is straight. Then, slowly lower the foot back down.
Similarly, you can do the lift to target your side muscles. Lie on your side and then lift up your upper leg and slowly lower it back down.
Be sure to roll over and do as many exercises on the other leg as you did on the first leg. This will make sure that you tone your body in an even manner.
The leg extension is another great exercise, but it focuses on the quadriceps. The quadriceps are the muscles located on the front of your upper legs.
To perform the leg extension, lie on the ground on your back. Start with your feet flat on the floor and then lift and extend your legs out until they are straight.
Be sure to point your toes as well. As always, slowly put your feet back down on the ground.
It is also important to think about your breathing while you perform this exercise. Inhale as you slowly lower your legs and exhale as you lift them.
It is best to do as many of these exercises as you can handle. Over time you will become stronger and stronger.
Plan your routine so that you can switch from working one muscle group to another and repeat the routine three times for the best results. Challenge yourself and see how long you can hold a certain position.
As you become stronger and maintain a good diet, you will be able to lose weight. As you gain muscle you should be able to see your cellulite disappear as well.
