If having a healthy body is one of your concerns in life, then, you should become aware that following a well balanced diet on a daily basis is a must. Below are some healthy eating guidelines or effective tips on good nutrition that, when utilized, can make a person healthier, and better protected from diseases, illnesses, etc:

Eat more fruits and veggies

One of the steps to a healthier life is to actually intake more fresh fruits and fresh veggies every day. Vegetables and fruits, after all, have huge amounts of minerals and vitamins that the human body needs in order to function well and become stronger against bacteria, viruses, and the likes. Having a healthy body, therefore, is usually a result of eating lots of fruits/veggies on a daily basis.

Eat Small Meals (at least 5 meals) per day

A well balanced diet is not the only thing you should rely on if you wish to be healthier. Your body should also have good metabolism, thus, part of the tips on good nutrition is to eat at least 5 small-sized meals every day, instead of eating just 3 huge meals in a day. You see, better metabolism or faster metabolism is brought about if the body digests smaller sized meals, which is why one of the healthy eating guidelines is to lessen your meal size and increase the frequency you eat meals per day. For optimal metabolism, remember to eat every 3 hours or every 4 hours.

Prefer to bake, broil, or roast foods over frying foods

Having a healthy body is made more possible when you choose to bake, steam, barbecue, roast, or broil foods, instead of fry the foods in oil. You see, most cooking oil have bad fats and that can reduce the effectiveness of a well balanced diet. Included in the list of tips on good nutrition, therefore, is to avoid frying, and just bake, or steam, or barbecue, or broil instead. In the event that you really need to fry your food, one of the healthy eating guidelines you can utilize is to use oil that has no trans fat or bad fat e.g. olive oil/extra virgin olive oil.

If you are afraid of developing serious diseases like: hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer, and the likes, you should choose the meals or foods that you eat carefully, as well as ensure that you prepare healthy dishes more often than not. Do not ever try to disregard the tips on good nutrition, unless you don't care about developing life threatening illnesses.
