How To Gain Weight Even If You Are Genetically Thin

Although obesity is a prevailing health concern in many developed countries, there is a class of underweight people who is missing the radar of the health authorities. If you are one of them, then this article is for you to gain some weight on your thin body frame.

There are various reasons why you are underweight. For most thin people, it is most likely a genetic factor. Look around your immediate family, are your parents or siblings also thin like you? If so, then it is probably your genetic predisposition that you are underweight.

Then it could also be eating disorders that cause you to be thin. Eating disorders like anorexia is a serious medical problem and medical and psychological help is immediately warranted. It could also be medical conditions like thyroid problems that make you unable to put on weight. You should check with your doctor whether you have any medical conditions that make you thin.

If you are suffering from sudden weight loss, then a trip to the doctor's office is necessary because you could be suffering from serious medical conditions like cancer or tuberculosis amongst other diseases that can cause weight loss.

We all know that obesity has its health risks but being underweight have its health implication too such as putting you at higher risk of getting heart diseases, certain types of cancers and bone fractures besides being aesthetically handicapped.

So how can you gain weight to be healthier and better looking? Well, you can start by developing a healthy eating habit. Most people will think that they can increase their weight by eating fatty and oily junk foods. Although you may gain weight that way, it is not a healthy method to put on weight. These kinds of foods contain a lot of unhealthy fats which are detrimental to your health.

You should instead focus on increasing your calorie consumption by eating healthy foods such as skinless chicken, plenty of fish, nuts, whole grains, vegetables and fruits. What you want to gain is lean mass and not chunks of unhealthy fat which could one day be a health and aesthetic burden. You should also supplement your diet with multi-vitamins to make sure that that your body have enough of these micronutrients.

If you find that even by eating more than usual, you are still not gaining weight, then you should find some good weight gain supplements to get more calories. This is because you have a high metabolic that burns calories easily. So this is all the more reason why you should take supplements to increase calorie consumption, especially protein shakes.

One way to increase your calorie consumption is to take more meals. This is because you can only eat so much at one serving and then you are full. So by spreading your meals to five or six times a day can give your body enough time to digest the food eaten so that you can eat again.

Start a weight resistant exercise program to build muscle mass. Otherwise the extra calories you are eating may be converted to unhealthy body fat. If you have the budget, then it will be a good idea to hire an experienced personal trainer to help you to gain muscle weight.

Building muscles all over the body is not as simple as what people think. If it is that simple, all the gyms will be filled with good looking hunks and we all know that is not the case.

If hiring a personal trainer is out of your budget, then you can search the internet for some muscle building e-books by well established authors or head to your local library to get some books on the subject. Otherwise, you will find that your weight training may not get you anywhere because of not knowing how to train and then without getting the result you want, you may quit training altogether.

Everyone can gain weight including you if there are no other underlying medical conditions. All you need to do is to acquire the knowledge on how to do that and then do it with a dogged determination.
