Utah is a unique state to live in when it comes to weather. The majority of Utah residents get to enjoy a variety of sunshine, rain, and snow throughout the span of the year.
During the summertime, the sun is shining and the days are hot. People everywhere are either basking in the sunlight, swimming their hearts out, and riding around town on their beach cruisers, or they are barricading themselves in their nice, cool, air conditioned homes.
During the winter time, people find joy in things such as building snowmen, flapping their arms around while creating snow angels, and sledding down monstrous hills, whole others are cuddled up next to their warm fireplace, sipping a cup of hot chocolate while simply enjoying the sight of the beautiful white snow as it falls upon the ground. While some people obviously prefer to be homebodies compared to outside adventurers, everyone should be able to enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature in one way or another.
One way people can take full advantage of the beauty every season has to offer--no matter their interests--is building a patio room off the side of their house. What is a patio room some may ask?
A patio room is a room built mostly out of glass or transparent plastic walls in order to allow as much sunlight into the room as possible. If it is not a bright sunny day, don't worry, this room still comes in handy.
It can instead be used as a room to sit in and enjoy the great view of the storming weather brewing outside. All together, it allows a person to enjoy the light and view of the outside while enjoying the comfort of the inside.
This is brilliant, however, there are still some cons to having a room like this added onto your house. Let's go through some of the pros and cons attached to this investment:
Pros: 1. People can enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, while not taking in the harmful UV rays emitted by the sun. This provides you with a better chance of avoiding skin cancer, as well as protecting your eyes from forming cataracts, pterygium and pinguecula in the future.
Overall, it promotes better health and keeps people healthy and strong so that they are able to live a long and happy life!
2. People can enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature, while avoiding the annoying bugs and insects that always seem to find their way to you. This means less itchy bug bites, more sleep, and more comfort!
3. People are able to see the full sky light up as thunder storms roll in and lightning strikes! And lets me honest here, who doesn't love a good thunderstorm!
Everyone wants to feel like they are in the middle of it, while also feeling safe and secure. Patio rooms can do both.
4. Couples are able to decorate these patio rooms with adorable outside furniture that will not be ruined by thrashing winds, snow, and rain. Knowing this, people are more likely to invest in nice, comfortable, and stylish patio sets.
5. This room allows allows couples to leave the furniture out ALL year long! Moving furniture into storage during November to prepare for the winter season and then pulling it back out in May for spring and summer can be a real hassle.
6. It is a great place to stimulate your senses by growing flowers and plants in this room. The fragrances put off by these plants and flowers will be relaxing, giving you a home aromatherapy session.
7. This room is like a constant mini-vacation! It is a place people can always count on going to in order to relax and shake off the busy day they just had at the office.
Cons: 1. These rooms add up and become a bit pricey in the end, especially when little features like UV protected windows are wanted.
2. Some people may think that adding a patio room to their house looks tacky and simply "attached," rather than a cohesive part of the house architecture. However, it has been noted that these rooms actually add resale value, instead of lower it.
So it may look "tacky" but it can end up making homeowners some money if they ever decide to sell their homes.
As one can see, the pros of these patio rooms way out weigh the cons. The only real con of these great rooms is cost.
However, seeing as it can increase one's health, happiness, and resale value, it'd say these rooms are really "priceless."
