There is such a variety of homemade, natural sugar scrubs available for people to try. You're sure to find one, or several, which meet your needs and fit into your budget. The fresh feeling after exfoliating every part of your body and skin, will make this process a special ritual. You may even set aside a time every weekend to lather up one part of your body or another.

A great and simple two ingredient scrub, which is perfect year round, mixes one half cup of granulated or brown sugars and enough olive oil, or other oil, to make it wet. Lather it onto your entire body and gently exfoliate all of the dead cells away. Once you are finished, rinse off in the shower and enjoy the new feel.

A great trick for oily skin is mashing a very ripe banana into a pulp. Add a few tablespoons sugar and even a few drops of essential oil or natural vanilla extract. Rub onto your skin and then rinse in the shower. Bananas are great for your skin and will tighten it as well as gently moisturize, without adding extra oils that can clog already oily complexions.

For an aromatic blend, mix one cup brown sugar, one teaspoon of cinnamon, one teaspoon of nutmeg and a half cup of macadamia nut oil or almond oil. Whisk together in order to eliminate clumps, then scrub onto your body. The wonderful smell of this scrub, as well as how great it feels on your skin, is sure to make it a favorite.

For a cooling and refreshing summer scrub, bust out a tangy tomato. Chop up a juicy tomato and add two tablespoons of plain yogurt along with a tablespoon of chopped cilantro and a half cup of sugar. Mix then apply to your face in a gentile circular motion. Allow it to rest for abut ten minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Natural sugar scrubs are just a pantry away and can work miracles on dry, damaged, blemished or oily complexions. They do not have to be limited to facials, as they work wonders on arms, legs, trunks and feet as well. Place your favorite scrub into a large bowl and massage your feet into it for a homemade pedicure. This also works wonders on hands and leaves them silky smooth. To maintain results, re-apply every couple of weeks and enjoy.
