Often times will pure essential oils be associated with that of aromatherapy alone, and of course these do play a pivotal role in this form of alternative healing but the functionality of these types of oils goes beyond that of this therapy alone.

These value added oils can be used within a variety of applications within aromatherapy but also in related functions also within the broader context of such therapy. This includes the likes of integrating these into the office environment.

Pure essential oils and the Office

Many offices are air conditioned and this can result in a number of conditions as experienced by the office workers themselves. Research has shown that the office worker exposed to so-called air delivery systems are more likely to suffer from or experience colds, sore throats, dry eyes, sore throats and coughs as compared to those that work within a setting that has a natural air ventilation system or setup. Although the air system is not alone in terms of causing these types of problems, as is evidenced by the well known "sick building syndrome", where poorly maintained copiers, dust extractors, cleaning chemicals and similar items contribute to possible factors that can affect the health of the office workers. So where do these types of oils come into the office equation one may ask, well there are a number of options here. These include the use of pure essential oils to help with clearing bacteria and viruses, to offset stale air and even to aid in concentration, not to mention the relaxation and de-stressing options that come along with these naturally based products.

Recommended pure essential oils for the mentioned areas of attention include Lavender, Rosemary, Tree Tea, Cypress and Niaouli oils for clearing bacteria and viruses. Rosemary, Lavender, Lemon and Grapefruit are ideal for combating stale air, whilst Bergamot, Basil and Grapefruit will help in enhancing the concentration and focus of the office worker. In reading the mentioned list and applications here one will notice that several oils repeat in a number of uses, such as that of Rosemary, Lavender and Bergamot in the previously mentioned applications. This implies that some of the specialised oils available do in fact have a multi-faceted range of use, and which form the basis of the so called basic oil kits, which can be applied within the office setting as described as well as being used in a wide variety of applications, such as the treatment of small cuts, insect bites and so forth.

The combination of two or more types of oils can also provide a diverse approach within the office setting, within combating stale air and promoting concentration, such as combining Lavender and Grapefruit. The scents from these provide a clean, yet relaxing environment whilst ensuring that the mind stays focused. The applications of pure essential oils within the office environment can be achieved via diffusing these oils or vaporizing them within appliances such as that of the humidifiers and so forth.
