Some high schools offer concurrent enrollment through trade or technology schools. Medical classes are offered with CNA certification or medical assisting certification. These classes are worthy of consideration. Our population is aging, these veterans of war, veteran of life, mothers, fathers, grandparents and loved ones deserve the very best skilled nursing homes possible and that care has to come from our rising generation. Nurses and care takers are going to be in increasingly high demand.
If a person receives their CNA certification in high school they are almost insured a job while attending college or the university. Jobs are hard to come by in college towns, and to have a valued and appreciated skills is certainly to your advantage. You can work as a CNA while pursing the career of a full time nurse, physician's assistant, or medical assistant. It is the perfect seguay into these fields. You get practical experience, necessary funds, and the opportunity to test your aptitude for caring for others and the medical field.
Not everyone is cut out to be in the medical profession, it takes compassion, understanding, the ability to deal with another person's bodily functions, it takes professionalism and capability. Schooling to become a nurse is intense, competitive, and difficult. Once you have the passion and drive, the rest is easier.
Elderly care will be one of the largest fields in the nursing field as time goes on. People want to make sure their loved ones are in nursing homes and care centers that are clean, have a professionally trained staff and understand the needs and requirements of the elderly. They want activities, good meals, therapist and doctors available with round the clock nurses available.
If you are a junior or senior in high school, and have a desire to help the elderly, look for the opportunity to earn your CNA certification to open the doors to the medical field. The opportunities are endless, the industry booming and the satisfaction of meaningful employment make this career rewarding.
