The following are common self hypnosis techniques that you can make use of to successfully perform hypnotism on yourself that can lead to significant weight reduction, quitting smoking, and the like:

The very first step you'll have to perform if you're interested in knowing how to hypnotize is to think hard and ask yourself why you actually want to learn hypnotism. In other words, you should have a clearly defined purpose or goal on why you want to undergo hypnosis. Some people may need it in order to stop their smoking habits. The next step on how to hypnotize is to visualize positive outcomes after each positive statement you say or think of. By imagining what perks you'll enjoy after reaching your goals, you'll more easily lose weight through hypnosis. For example, you can imagine the man of your dreams or the girl of your dreams asking you out once he or she sees that you've lost some weight. Playing positive outcomes over and over again in your mind is really effective in making hypnosis programs successful.

When you're hypnotizing yourself, remember to do these self hypnosis techniques as well:

1. Focus and do your sessions in a quite area with no disturbance, loud noises, etc.

2. Be in a comfortable position wherein you can relax.
