So, the experts are saying that people who use one of the well known food based diet plans have the best success. Then there is a foot note stating that the people were provided their food and counseling for free. The normal person that wants to use the same program will pay about $600 to $700 per month. This does not fit the budget of most people.

I have researched this particular company and they seemed to be more interested in what food I was going to purchase from them every week than how much weight I had lost or what they could do to truly help me lose weight and get healthy. With the weight loss industry being the multibillion dollar industry that it is, there are many companies trying to cash in this in one way or another.

There are many reputable weight loss companies that have helped thousands of people lose weight. Whatever is safe and can get you to a healthy weight is a plan that you should consider, but not the same thing is going to work for everyone. Some people will not like the rigidity of a meal replacement diet and others will not be able to manage the meal planning that is part of the Weight Watchers plan.

Figure out what best fits your lifestyle and run with it. There is no shortage of options to choose from, but you cannot stop with just what you eat. You have to get moving. The best way to get started is by walking. If you have joint pain, recumbent biking and water walking are good options that have less of an impact on your joints.

After you have gotten a few pounds off and are moving more easily, you should add strength training to your fitness program. Building muscle is as important as burning calories when it comes to exercise. Stretching is also important to overall fitness and it will become more important as you age. It also relieves the stress that seems to part of the lives of most people today.

Emotional health is the third component of the package. If you have things in your life that are stressing you out, they may cause you to turn to food for comfort. Until you learn to manage these stresses without food, you are probably going to have problems with your weight. You can have all the information that you need, but stress can still cause you to eat. There are counselors, organizations and books that can help you learn to manage your emotions without the use of food and for many people this is something that has to be accomplished before they can return to a healthy weight.
