Exercising during your third trimester is still very important and can provide both you as the mother and your unborn baby with many different benefits as you near delivery. During the last trimester, the baby will gain at least five pounds.

This can make a tremendous difference in what types of exercises are easy to do and which ones are safe for you to do. For example, running is generally not recommended because of the extra weight that bounces up and down with you.

This extra weight puts a lot of pressure on the joints and it can result in serious injuries. In addition, things like horseback riding and bicycling are not recommended either because the extra weight causes your center or gravity to change.

As a result, your sense of balance also changes and you will have to be very careful to not lose your balance and fall over. A fall could hurt you and your baby.

You will want to avoid this at all costs. As you exercise you will also want to be careful to make sure that you get the right amount of nutrients to supply your growing baby and your body.

In particular, you should make sure that you get enough protein to support your muscles that will be growing as you exercise. Protein is also critical for the creation of cells, which your baby is still doing.

It will also be particularly important that you make sure you stay hydrated. Water is critical to your ability to keep your body temperature at a normal level.

This is important because a temperature that is too high will be dangerous for your baby and may cause problems. You do not want to risk getting dehydrated.

It is also important to stay hydrated so that you will have a lower chance of experiencing preterm labor contractions. However, despite the precautions that you must take, exercising can combat many of the side effects that you will experience in your third trimester.

While some of these things may hinder you from getting out the door and exercising, exercising is often the remedy to them. The first side effect that exercise can help take care of is fatigue and insomnia.

These two things are often experienced in the first trimester and then they often come back to haunt you during your third trimester as well. They are often a result of physical or emotional causes.

Many women find that they have trouble sleeping in the third trimester because of a variety of different reasons. It may be that your thoughts are preoccupied with the upcoming addition to the family.
