It seems like when people make up their mind that they want to lose weight, they want to lose weight quickly. And I guess there is nothing wrong with that, but how hard are you willing to work to see results, because that is what it is going to take...hard work and dedication to a weight loss program.
It is possible to lose weight quickly. Look at the show, The Biggest Loser. Some of these people lose 50-70 pounds in their first month. Also keep in mind that they may weigh over 400 pounds, but even someone of that weight is going to have to work hard to see those numbers. There will be no easy way to reach your goal and just because you cannot get achieve it in a month does not mean that you will not achieve it in time.
The single best thing you can do to ramp up your weight loss is burn calories by moving. The number of calories you consume does also play a big part in your weight loss. But many people think that fewer is better, but that is not always the case. You have to find that balance where you are eating few enough calories that you will lose weight, but not so few that you body will go into starvation mode and no allow you to drop any weight. For most women this is somewhere between 1200 and 1500 calories and for men it is 1500 to 1800 calories.
Losing weight is a game of balance, even in other parts of your life. If something else is overwhelming to you, you will have a difficult time staying focused on the task at hand...losing weight. These other issues may also cause you to eat emotionally. Losing weight should be a process that makes you healthier in all areas of your life and that may mean having to deal with some issues that are not directly related to losing weight.
Losing weight is not a race. It is about having a plan that you can follow for the rest of your life that will keep you healthy and physically fit. Take it one day at a time and move forward from your mistakes. Do not beat yourself up. You are human and you will get out of this journey what you put into and hopefully, that will be a new healthier you.
