Learning the facts about Autism is a must if you know an autistic person, or if your kid is one. By gaining knowledge on Autism Spectrum Disorder or being well versed on information on Autism, you'll make your life easier, and your loved one's life easier, too. Here are some of the truths and facts you should keep in mind:

Autism is a condition that has a wide variety of symptoms. These symptoms differ in kind and levels - in other words, person A may exhibit a different set of symptoms than person B. There are autistic people who are smart and are able to communicate well, while there are those who are 'slow' and have problems with communications, both non-verbally and verbally. One of the facts about Autism that people should know is that a person can be bright, have good language skills, and have exemplary reading skills, yet, he or she can be diagnosed as an autistic person.

People should not treat those with Autism Spectrum Disorder the same way. As mentioned earlier, information on Autism tells us that different autistic individuals have different symptoms, act differently, and so on. Some of them are talkative, while some do not care to chat with others; some may want to play with other kids, while some don't. You should not judge autistic people and should observe them first so you can better interact with them.

Included in the list of facts about Autism is for you to give your support to your autistic kid, or support the family whom you know has a child with autism. If your cousin is autistic, or your neighbour has a kid with the condition, it is best that you research on information on Autism, and learn how you can deal with Autism Spectrum Disorder patients. Doing this can lower not only your stress levels but also the levels of stress of the people around an autistic person.

Diagnosis of the condition is done through careful observation and routine investigation plus interviews with the child, the parents, siblings, friends, school teachers, etc. Some of the signs that doctors look for to determine whether someone has Autism or not includes:

1. Trouble making eye contact with others

2. Inability to response when his or her name is called

3. Repetitive movements

4. Difficulty with enunciating and pronouncing words

5. Preference to be alone

Once someone has been found out to be an autistic person, Autism Spectrum Disorder treatments may be started. Behavior Therapy, Speech Therapy, Treatment using mild sedatives, among others, are examples of what can be given or done to reduce the symptoms of the abive mentioned disorder.

These are some of the facts about Autism and information on Autism that you and other people who interact with autistic persons should become aware of and bear in mind.
