There are many different cause of back pain. Here are a few that you will want to consider.

There are many different activities that can cause irritation and back pain. While something as simple as a massage may relieve the pain, often this is not the case for serious injuries.

A serious injury does not have to happen all at once to develop. It can develop over a lengthy period of time through performing activities that put strain on your back.

As a result, you may not know or remember how or what cause the pain you feel. However, knowing the cause is very important so that you can change your habits so that you do not make the problem worse.

One of the most common causes that is related to a poor daily habit is bad posture. Bad posture can cause a lot of discomfort, particularly if you have to stand or sit for longer periods of time throughout the day.

If you are involved with heavy lifting through your job, you will want to make sure that you lift the heavy objects in the correct manner. You should use your legs or a machine to lift things.

Forceful movements, bending, twisting, or contorting yourself into odd positions can also add to the irritation. If the irritation develops into sacroiliac joint dysfunction, you may find that it becomes extremely difficult to complete daily projects and tasks.

Even sitting, standing, and walking can become severely uncomfortable. As a result, you will want to make sure that you target the cause of you pain as soon as you can so that you do not make the problem worse than it is to begin with.

Keep in mind that even healthy activities can cause issues. For example, you could pull a muscle or suffer a sprain while exercising. This should not stop you from exercising, but you will want to be more careful not to put extra strain on your back.

Injuries and accidents can also cause a lot back issues through no fault of your own. If you are in a car accident, you will want to make sure that you get properly checked out for whip lash as you may not feel the full effects of this injury immediately.

However, whip lash can cause a lot of pain in a few hours or days. Osteoporosis is another condition that negatively affects the back.

It is a condition where the bones are weakened so that they become more vulnerable to fractures upon impact. Of course, aging is another condition that can definitely result in back problems.

As you get older, your ligaments tend to thicken and to dry out. This is something that occurs naturally and which cannot be prevented for the most part.

However, it does mean that certain disorders may be developed that will put pressure on your spinal nerves and column. Even if you do not experience pain, it is not uncommon to feel numb or weak due this problem.

A common disease that is developed in relation to old age is degenerative disc disease. Degenerative disc disease is basically where your spinal discs simply deteriorate with age.

As they lose their proper structure, it makes it more difficult and impossible for them to function as they should. This is something that happens over time as your grow old and it is for the most part something that you cannot prevent.

Degenerative disc disease is something that can result in bulging discs or herniated discs. When bulging or herniated discs push on a nerve, it can be extremely painful.

Sometimes this pain is felt in another part of the body so you do not know that your back is really the problem. This is referred to as radioculopathy.

There are two main types of radiculopathy. The first is cervical radiculopathy, which means that you feel the discomfort in your arms.

The second is lumbar radiculopathy, which means that you feel the discomfort in your legs. Another thing that can cause back issues is daily stress or emotional tension.

These mental issues need to be dealt with properly or they could cause the muscles to become quite stiff and sore. The back is responsible for carrying more of your weight, so it already under a lot of strain.

If you add the strain of your emotional discomforts, you may develop a lot of back pain. Another common thing that adds to back issues is obesity or simply being overweight.

The extra weight that you have to carry around all sits on your lower back. This can cause the diseases that you are experiencing to be much worse.
