Spastic Colon Symptoms: Signs That You Suffer From IBS

Irritable Bowel disease, also known as Spastic-Colon, is a condition that takes place in your gastrointestinal tract, wherein you'll experience symptoms like abdominal pain, a bloated feeling, and changing bowel movements. To have an idea of whether you may be experiencing the aforesaid gastro intestinal disorder, better learn about common Spastic Colon symptoms and other facts about IBS. Of course, to really be certain that you suffer from IBS or from another disease, go to the doctor and ask for a diagnosis first.

The usual signs that you have Irritable-Bowel-Syndrome include: urgent need to defecate, discomfort in your abdomen, constipation, pain in the lower back, and diarrhea. Some people who have Irritable Bowel disease even report having head aches, being nauseous, vomiting, and so on. Imagine the discomfort as well as the embarrassment you'll have to go through if you are plagued by the above mentioned gastro intestinal disorder.

Some patients also observe Spastic Colon symptoms that are quite nerve wracking e.g. blood in the stools and pain while defecating, that may cause panic, in other words, make you go running to the hospital to find out whether you have colon cancer, or any other life threatening illness. Once you and your physician have determined that you really are experiencing Spastic Colon symptoms, or that you are now part of the list of people who suffer from IBS, you will usually be given some milder treatments for the condition first e.g. you'll be advised to drink certain teas e.g. ginger ale, peppermint tea, etc, that can help make your digestion normal; you may be asked to rub on some pepper mint oil on your tummy to reduce the abdominal pain, bloated feelings, and so on.

Your Irritable Bowel disease may also be treated by stress reduction activities. You see, the higher your stress levels, the greater the chances of the symptoms to take place. You should therefore do things that will help reduce stress such as meditation, listening to soft or mellow music, getting a facial, or getting a massage, and the like.

To 'win against' Spastic Colon symptoms, it is also best to eat more fiber-rich dishes or foods, but, be sure to increase your intake of those types of foods little by little to avoid surprising your stomach or gastrointestinal system too much. During the first week, you can add just 1 veggie and 1 fruit into your diet, and then on the third week, you can include 2 veggies and then 2 fruits, and so on. Remember to also avoid or reduce certain foods that may only aggravate the aforesaid gastro intestinal disorder e.g. coffee, dairy products, alcoholic beverages, etc.
