If you are tired of getting bad breath on dates from the thing you eat, it is time to do something about it.

After all, it can be very embarrassing trying to carry on an intimate conversation after eating a delicious meal with garlic in it.

You do not have to take medications or scrape your tongue until it is raw-simply try some of these natural foods to help you deal with unwanted oral odor.

While dentists say brushing your teeth is always the best option, when you are out on the town it may not be an options-try these instead.

All you need to do is eat these simple foods after your meal, and you will be much more pleasant to talk to. To begin with, try eating some pieces of basil, mint, or parsley.

Did you ever notice how some of the dishes you order always come with a cute little garnish of parsley or basil? While these foods can certainly add to the visual appeal of your meal, they also serve a great purpose.

If you are having a meal loaded with garlic, onions, or something else of the smelly variety, chewing on these green garnishes - which are packed with a natural breath freshener - can actually help eliminate bad breath.

Next time you see them on your plate, put them to good use!

Next, try some lemon wedges. While they are a little too sour to be comfortable for some, they can do a great deal of good.

Typically, lemon wedges can be found floating in your drinking water at a restaurant, or it may be used as a dish embellishment. Think of this wonderful fruit as a cleaning agent in your mouth.

If you are having an exceptionally pungent meal, be sure to ask for a glass of water accompanied with some lemon wedges.

Such on them as soon as you are done, and this can eliminate some of the odors that you may be experiencing from your meal.

The lemon works to neutralize these stinky smells, leaving your mouth feeling clean and refreshed. It is no wonder that so many household cleaners are lemon scented-let it work for your mouth as well as your house!

Just having a mouth that is too dry can cause bad oral odor. Having a dry mouth creates a breeding ground for odor-causing bacteria that likes to hide in your gums, teeth, and on the surface of your tongue.

Keeping your mouth well hydrated washes away these pesky germs and keeps you fresher, longer. Take a few long gulps of water, and this should help immensely.

Ginger is another substance that can alleviate your embarrassment. While many people do not like raw ginger because of the strong taste and smell it produces, it works wonders in your mouth.

When you chew raw ginger in tiny little pieces, it can take away any other smells or tastes already in your mouth. As an added bonus, ginger also helps reduce sweating-not a bad deal all the way around.

There are some more delicious and healthy foods that can help you out, as well. Crunchy foods such as apples, carrots, and celery also have magical powers when it comes to conquering bad smells.

These foods dislodge plaque and other food particles that are stuck in your teeth.

Not only do apples, carrots, and celery help reduce this plaque and other unpleasant bacteria, but also munching on them creates the saliva that helps you to clean out your oral cavity naturally.

Last but not least, yogurt can have great effects as well. While it may seem a little sour, making plain, sugar free yogurt part of your daily diet decreases the amount of hydrogen sulphide present in your oral cavity.

Add a little bit of granola to your yogurt and you have a delicious meal that will leave you odor free. Next time you reach for the gum or mints, keep in mind that some of these substances actually cause bacteria to grow, causing your bad breath down the line.

While they may work great for a few minutes, the after effect can be worse that before you popped the gum and mints in the first place. Try chewing and sucking on some of these natural substances and see what they can do for you!
