Thousands of people on a daily basis aim to loose unwanted weight and the vast majority of these people fall into the trap of yo-yo dieting. Yo-yo dieting is the process in which a person sets out to lose weight these individuals have initial success however fail to maintain the lost weight and re gain the lost weight. The cycle then begins again as the individual aims to lose the re gained weight.

This cycle is common when people try to lose weight by drastically dropping their daily calorie intake this is known as a hypo caloric diet which is often too extreme to be maintained. This drastic reduction in calories can provide a boost to motivation when the weight loss is immediate and often extreme however due to this sort of diet being incredibly hard to maintain people embarking on this sort of diet will often experience side effects such as depression and fatigue.

Experiencing these side effects the individual will often turn back to their old eating habits which results in gaining weight with the added disappointment of failing to succeed on their diet. This often leads to over eating and rapid weight gain.

To avoid this cycle of yo-yo dieting it's important for people to avoid the urge to dramatically reduce their daily intake, you should start by working out the amount of calories you need to maintain your bodyweight and work from there with small reductions over the course of a few weeks.

This approach is both comfortable and easy to maintain and will result in steady weight loss which is easy to continue over long periods of time. Too many people are looking for the quickest route to weight loss through fat loss supplements and dietary aids however the easiest way to reduce weight is over time through small manipulation to the daily diet.

People who take a less rushed approach to weight loss will often see better results over the long term and will be less likely to suffer from yo-yo dieting, once you are comfortable with manipulating your diet for weight loss sports supplements and nutritional supplements can be included in your diet to help aid in fat loss through increased calorie burning and accelerated metabolism. However these supplements are often seen as magic pills, it's important that you understand these products will only help aid in weight loss when you have the right approach to your day to day diet.
