The primary cause for stretch marks is not an easy solution to find out. There are many different reasons why these ugly marks occur on our skin besides the most popular reasons such as pregnancy, rapid weight gain and weight loss. Another cause is diseases and certain medications. These stretch scars occur when the dermis part of the skin is stretched too rapidly. The stretched skin is unable to keep up with elasticity of the skin and tears in the skin begin to form resulting in the marks.

Stretch marks, also referred to as striae mainly have a reddish, bright pink or purple-like lines on the skin and then will usually fade to silvery white with a slight indentation on the skin.

Women who are pregnant are the most likely to get striae due to the rapid growth of the baby. They usually get the unsightly scars on their bellies, thighs and hips. The rapid growth mainly appears in the third trimester. Pregnancy hormones can play a huge role in why women get stretch marks.

Puberty is another cause as the adolescent will begin to get them as they are going through huge growth spurts as their skin stretches. Some adolescents who grow into very tall person will experience even more stretch scars because of the rapid growth and the skin unable to snap back into place.

The best ways to prevent stretch marks:

Pinching a hole in vitamin E capsules and draw out the liquid from it. Rub the vitamin E oil liquid vigorously on the skin. Allow the vitamin E to absorb into the skin and then wipe off the vitamin E oil.

Mix together essential oils of sweet almond, lavender, avocado, chamomile, and jojoba. Apply this mixture to the areas of the skin prone to striae daily.

Consume a healthy and nutrition diet of foods containing green leafy vegetables, liver, tomatoes, and daily products. These nutritious food sources contain collagen producing agents in it to help fight and prevent striae.

Create a mixture of virgin oil measuring half a cup, and aloe vera gel measuring a quarter of a cup. Add in the liquid of at least six Vitamin E capsules, four vitamin A capsules however if pregnant it is advised to not use vitamin A capsules it. Pour all oils into a blender and refrigerate it. After several hours then apply it to the the skin.

Try out an apricot scrub to rub on and this will help existing stretch scars to fade away gradually.
