Becoming a physician assistant is a great way to contribute to modern health care. There are many great physician assistant programs that you can get into at a public university.

In order to become a physician assistant, you will want to talk to someone who is currently one. Ask him or her several questions about what they did to become one, what they love about it, and what they do not like about it.

He or she should be able to recommend some of the classes that you should take and what kind of schooling you should pursue. You can also look online to find more information in this area.

The more information that you have to plan your path to this career, the sooner you will be able to get started on it. In addition, the sooner you have this information, the more likely it will be that you will gain all of the experience needed to get a job.

After you have gathered all of the information that you need, you will need to get a lot of medical experience. Many physician assistant schools do not admit students that do not have a very high level of experience.

Most physician assistant schools prefer their students to have at least two years on hands on patient care before they will admit them. There are many ways that you can get the experience that you need.

With a little training, you can volunteer at a medical center, hospital, or other health care facility. If you can become a surgical technologist, surgical assistant, medical assistant, nursing assistant, licensed practical or vocational nurse, athletic trainer, physical therapy technician, emergency medical technician or a military medic for two years then you will have plenty of experience to put on your application.

Physician assistant schools also like to see their applicants have at least a bachelor's degree in the health sciences. They also like to see that they have taken a series or pre-requisite classes as well.

These pre-requisites may include anatomy and physiology, biology 101, microbiology, math, and English. How well you do in these classes can be an indication of how well you will do in physician assistant school.

As you near the end of your undergraduate, you will want to begin looking at different schools and programs. You will need to see what their requirements are so that you will be able to fulfill them before you graduate.

Once you have decided which program you would like to participate in, it is a good idea to contact them directly. You should let them know that you want to apply and ask them to send you an information packet.

They should also be able to answer any remaining questions that you have. At this time, you can also ask for scholarship information as well.

It is also a good idea to ask for the contact information for someone who has recently graduated from that program. Then, call and talk to him or her about their experiences.

Make sure you ask for their advice on what they would have done differently if they were to go through the program again. They should be able to give you lots of helpful tips if you tell them you are applying.

This person should also be able to give you tips on filling out the application. Try to get their recommendation.

It is also a good idea to talk to some physician's assistants to get their recommendations as well. Then, you will want to open an account with CASPA.

CASPA stands for Central Application Service for Physician Assistants. Most programs prefer it if you apply through this system.

A few programs will require a little additional information as well and you will need to make sure that you complete all of the requirements for those that require extra information. Make sure that you start the CASPA information early as it can take quite a bit of time to complete fully.

For the application, you will need to collect all of your educational and employment information. If you can gather this information before you begin, it will make the application go faster.

You will also need at least three good letters of recommendation. One of these letters will need to be from a doctor or physician assistant that you have worked with.

Another part of the application is a personal statement. You will want to take the time to read the question correctly and to write a good response that is free of grammatical errors.
