Anyone addicted to alcohol should realize that it is not only himself or herself that's affected; the people around that person who has a drinking problem also suffer, especially because alcoholism is linked with violence, health problems e.g. liver disease, and the like. 1. Having an intervention is recommended to an alcoholic. This actually means that the closest friends, loved ones, etc, of the person, together with a professional or an expert in the intervention technique, will talk seriously with the person who's addicted to alcohol.
