When you start to feel that you may have a cavity in your mouth, make sure that you realize what you can do to help your cavity. There are a lot of people that do not understand how beneficial it can be to slow the decay of their cavity.

You want to make sure that you are taking time to rinse your mouth with mouthwash after you eat, if you cannot find time to brush. Anyone can rinse their mouth with mouthwash very quickly when they do not have time to brush.
Make sure that you are taking time to choose your toothpaste well. You want to find a toothpaste that has fluoride in it so that you can be sure that your teeth are getting all of the necessary protection from decay.
While you are looking for a good toothpaste, you may want to start talking with your dentist about what you should be using. He or she may have a recommendation for a good toothpaste that you did not even know existed.
After you have your toothpaste and your hygiene habits down, you will want to make sure that you are changing your diet. Changing your diet for your teeth may not have been something that you have thought about in the past.
As you minimize the amount of sugary foods that you are eating, you will be sure that you are able to slow the decay of your teeth. When you are eating a lot of sugar, the sugar will increase the decay that occurs with your teeth.
Make sure that you are taking time to understand that you should brush your teeth right after you eat sugar if you must eat sugar. This way, you can be sure that the sugar is not going to sit on your teeth for hours after you eat it.
When you eat sugar and you do not have time to brush you will want to make sure that you chew a gum with xylitol in it. Take time to find a gum that will help with your tooth decay problems rather than hinder your problems.
To replace the foods that you have cut out, you want to be sure that you are drinking green tea on a daily basis. There are a lot of people that do not realize all of the health benefits that can be found in a simple glass of green tea.
As you are going to drink the green tea you have to be sure that you understand that the green tea is extremely rich in fluorine. The fluorine in the green tea will help your mouth get rid of the different bacteria and plaque.
As you are getting rid of the bacteria and plaque you will be sure to minimize the decay of your cavity. This way, you will be sure that you are going to be able to endure the pain and the cavity until you can go to the dentist.
Finally, it may be beneficial to start chewing licorice root. When you are chewing licorice root you will find that it is a natural antimicrobial that will slow down the rate at which the bacteria is growing in your mouth.
This process is very beneficial as you are trying to slow down the rate of decay. Although you may be able to slow the rate of decay you have to be sure that you are going to the dentist as soon as you can to get the problem taken care of.
