If you are tired of getting sick over and over again, it is time to get your immune system functioning to the best of its ability. There are several different ways that you can boost your natural defenses.

To begin with, the more healthy you eat, the better. Getting the proper vitamins and nutrition will help to make you stronger, and will help your body's various systems to function better.

Make sure that both your daily diet and your food storage reflect the vitamins and supplements that you body needs in the form of food. What you feed your body will determine how healthy it ultimately is.

By eating processed or fast foods, you are not getting what your body needs. Focus on eating lots of vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains.

These foods are high in vitamins and antioxidants that your immune system needs. Eat as many different colors as you can in one meal, so that you have a variety of different nutrition sources.

After all, the different colors indicate the different compounds that they contain. A typical immune system diet will contain five servings of fruits and vegetables, seeds, cold pressed oils, garlic, protein-rich foods, and whole grains.

Sometimes getting everything from you need from your diet can be tough, however. Sometimes you may need to take some extra multivitamins to keep your immune system boosted.

If you are going to take a multi, try taking one that includes good levels of vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and selenium. It also needs to contain iron, zinc, chromium, and copper-this will be very good for your system.

In addition to this, you may want to consider taking probiotics. This is healthy bacteria that inhibits the growth of bad bacteria in the gut, and promotes those that aid digestion.

Your body will better be able to fight of infection, which will in turn keep you more consistently healthy. Taking liquorice can also help to boost your system when it is suppressed by stress and steroids-take it when you are feeling sick.

Next, sleep is important, not only for rest and rejuvenation, but also for supporting the immune system. It is when we sleep that our health is replenished and strengthened.

Not sleeping for even one night can seriously damage your health. Melatonin is a natural hormone that is released when darkness falls.

When it is released, we feel sleepy and drowsy, and are able to rest in a more relaxed way. Sleep your way to better health, and you will be happier for it.

Make sure that you get plenty of exercise on a regular basis. This boosts your health quite a bit, and can temporarily improve the production of macrophages, the cells that attack bacteria.

Hop on your treadmill for at least twenty minutes a day. This simple fast walk or job can do wonders for your health.

Avoiding stress is another way to make sure that your health is up to par. Stress can be very detrimental to your natural immunities, and prolonged periods of stress will lead to sickness.

Finding ways to fight off your stress is very important-you may want to think about trying yoga, meditation, or talking to a family member or friend while you exercise. Practicing your favorite hobbies is another fun way to go.

Always listen to what your body is trying to tell you. Recurring infections, slow wound healing, allergies, thrush, colds, and flu are all signs that your immunities are not functioning well. You should not suffer from more than two colds a year-anything more than that can be the sign of a problem.

However, if you do suffer from recurring infections, it is likely that you have taken antibiotics to try to overcome them. As a result, antibiotics are now the biggest cause of fungal and bacterial infections.

Try everything you can to improve your health, and your ability to fight off germs and bacteria that you come into contact with. If you are careful about the way that you treat your body, you will end up feeling much more healthy the entire year.
