A rhinoplasty is the official term given to what is commonly known as a nose job. It is a procedure that falls under the plastic surgery umbrella, dealing with the reconstruction of the nose for either cosmetic and aesthetic purposes, or for respiratory purposes.

There are measures that can be taken by the patient to minimize the recovery time, such as staying hydrated and making certain diet changes. Resting as much as possible is understandably mandatory to aid the healing process. It is also important to protect the nose from all forms of agitation, especially physical disturbances.
Though there is no such thing as the 'perfect' nose, patients will often visit their plastic surgeons with images of what they would like to end up with. These images are often of popular celebrities. It is important to note that what works for one face may not necessarily be ideal for another.
