Unfortunately there are a lot of personal care products that just dont seem to deliver the magic cures that they promise to. We have all splurged on that super expensive bottle of conditioner that promises to transform hair into an instant mane of attractiveness only to crack it open to use it at home to get nothing more than scratchy, frizzy hair that resembles straw. Just because a personal hair product is three times more expensive than its counterpart sitting next to it on the shelf doesnt mean that it will do what you want it to with your hair.
The hard truth of the matter is that everyones hair is different and not every personal care product will react the same with all heads of hair. The only true way to find products that really work for your hair is to bite the bullet and buy it for a trial and error run. If it works, you are more likely to stick with that product for a while. But more than a few people have noticed that no matter how magic a product seems at first they seem to diminish in powers after they are used for a while. Experts recommend that you change the products that you use every once in a while because the hair almost develops a tolerance to them. Once it seems that your products may not be working like it used to, it may be time to go back to the trial and error method to find a new one for a while.
If you seem to be sensitive or allergic to a certain product or a certain ingredient, try to narrow down what exactly is in the item that you may be allergic to. Again, the only way to find this out really is through trial and error. There are a lot of products out on the market that claim to be hypo allergenic, but people are allergic to many different things, and what may be safe for one person may be completely incompatible with another person. Some of the ingredients in personal care products may trigger reactions for one person that have no effect on another person.
Other personal care products double also as sun screens. Many of the foundations, powders, and lipsticks that are available are also marketed as having SPF factors, which is an important fringe benefit for many people, especially those who may be prone to melanoma, carcinoma, or sun burns. Personal care products should not contain things like Sodium Lauryl sulfate, aluminum chlorhydrate, and alcohol. These are some of the most common offending ingredients for people with sensitivities or allergies.
Another trend these days will all kinds of products is to choose those that are environmentally friendly. Look for labels that state that products are organic, natural, bio degradable, or green and the environment will thank you for being responsible for cutting back on toxic biohazards with your personal care products.
