MRSA is a type of staph bacteria that has a resistance to specific antibiotics, such as methicillin, oxacillin, amoxicillin, and penicillin. MRSA infections occur mostly in health care facilities and hospitals, because of the increased number of individuals who tend to have weaker immune systems. Staph should be treated very seriously, because it can be potentially harmful if not dealt with in the correct fashion.

Infections dealing with MRSA that occur in younger individuals tend to be those who have had or are currently having medical treatment. Staph infections under this category are known as CA-MRSA (Community Associated) infections. Most infections from CA-MRSA tend to be nothing more than skin infections, which have symptoms similar to boils, abscesses, and other skin-lesions. But proper medical attention should be sought if symptoms become serious.

There are many symptoms that occur that can allow you to determine if an infection is the resultant of Staph. Symptoms of a Staph infection could include any of the following:

Cellulitis, which can include inflammation of swelling of the skin, often similar to an ant bite, or red-colored bruise. Follucilitis, which is the swelling or inflammation of an individual hair follicle. Any boil, which is an accumulation of pus and is an uncomfortable swelling of the affected skin. Impetigo, a bacterial skin infection of the skin. Styes, infections that occur on the eyelid, and paronychia, which is a bacterial or fungal infection that occurs on the hand. These are only a handful of symptoms that can be caused by Staph, if you feel that any infection, even if not of the skin is because of Staph, then proper medical attention is imperative.

If you seem to undergo any of these symptoms, it is most important to consult a physician, as to ensure there is a correct diagnosis of the problem. If no medical attention is sought, then the symptoms can become much worse, leading to a much more serious situation.

If any of these symptoms turn out to be Staph, it is important to seek medical attention, because Staph can get into the blood stream and possibly be fatal. Staph bacterium can cause symptoms of food poisoning, toxic shock syndrome, lymph node infection, done infection, and even infection in parts of the heart. This is why it is extremely do professionally handle Staph, to figure which strain of Staph it may be, and to ensure that recovery is without problem.
