Doctors diagnose diseases while teachers teach. But why is a teacher diagnosing ADHD? If the teacher wants to become a doctor, then she should stop teaching and enroll in a medical school.

Even though teachers see their students all time at school; they cannot immediately conclude that a child has ADHD just because he/she didn't pay any attention to the lesson. ADHD is a complicated diagnosis that needs to be done by a doctor.

Although as a teacher, it is important that they gather information on the unusual behavior of the child and forward the information to the parents. If they do doubt that their child may have ADHD, they will then go to an ADHD specialist who can carry out a complete assessment of the child.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is extremely particular about parent rights and other concerns about the education of the child. Primarily, the idea of a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) invalidates the school's "hooligan" taunt - unless the district is prepared to provide a tutor for the child at home.

Apart from the warning to illegally refuse academic services, the district made some other strategic errors. They obviously forgot to inform the parent about the IEP procedure too. This is also a federal law with very particular directives concerning parental rights, processes and timelines.

The district can claim that because the child was not diagnosed or placed in special education, then IDEA is not valid. Then again, that contradicts their statement that the child should be taking Ritalin. If the child really requires medication, as the teacher said, then the school is completely accountable for IDEA processes under the Other Health Impairment (OHI) category.

People or children's parents with ADHD know the likely benefits of proper medication treatment. They also know how hard it can be to deal with a choice about medicating your child. No one likes the thought of having their son or daughter take Ritalin or any other medications utilized to treat ADHD. Also, there are very strict laws about medicating people against their will. In the child's case, it is eventually the choice of the parent.

The role of teachers is to tend to the child's needs. Whether a child is diagnosed with ADHD or not, the teacher should use a learning technique that could effectively teach both type of students. They do not need to have a prescription from the doctor to test various academic methods.

Keep in mind that in case a person has been diagnosed of having ADHD, the right kinds of supplements can be taken. It will help overcome ADHD in the long run. A doctor's advice is indeed necessary to know which ones are suitable.

Also, why not ask more about homeopathy remedies? It is one of the great ways in battling ADHD because it is a more holistic approach. With homeopathic therapy, Tuberculinum is used for those who need constant motivation for easily bored kids. Also, Arsen iod is used to reduce temper tantrums.
