The one thing nearly all people want as they grow older is their youth. Many sit and yearn for those "good old days". Well, once you develop the right mindset, you will still be able to retain your youthful looks as you grow older. This article will cover 6 ways in which to do that.

1. Your eyes are very important in helping you retain youthfulness. Not enough sleep will make your eyes look tired and that will in turn make you look older.

However, it is not necessary for you to get the traditional 8 hours of sleep each day. New research has found that between 6 and 7 hours is optimal and will help you live longer, have more energy and help retain your youthful looks. Getting enough sleep will help your eyes to shine, which in turn makes you look and feel better.

Only you know the best ways and things to do to help you get a good nights sleep, so make sure you think hard about how to achieve that.

2. Did you know that by cutting your hair short it will make you look younger? Long hair is not only hard to keep looking good, but it can also give the appearance of making you look older than you are. If you are starting to go grey, then get your hairdresser to cut your hair shorter, keep it modern and get rid of that grey. Keep your hair out of your face and expose your beauty to the world.

3. Try to keep a clean environment around you. Adding plants in your home, and trees in your garden will help to clean the air you breath. Drinking good clean water, and plenty of it will also slow down the aging process. Keep away from bad air or highly polluted areas.

4. Try not to wear too much make up. Going over board and putting on too much make up will actually make people think you have something to hide. Subconsciously, people will think you are older than you are. Keep to light colors and avoid brownness around your lips. A more natural look will actually help you to look and feel younger.

5. Nice shiny white teeth will go a long way to making you look younger. Brush your teeth on a regular basis and use whitening to make them shine. If you are starting to lose your teeth, then it is a aging sign of a calcium deficiency. Try hard to get enough calcium in your diet and you will keep your teeth longer. Make regular trips to your dentist and get them to give your teeth a once over each year to give them that shine once more!

6. There are many top class natural cosmetic products that can help you look younger today. Find ones with antioxidants in them to protect your skin from toxins and pollutants in the air. Ones with Elastin and Collagen will also help your skin to regenerate your skin cells and help you keep your youthful looks.
