A review of deep wrinkle treament methods reveals that your two main choices involve injections or topical treatment. For some people, especially those who are mainly concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, deep wrinkle treatment by injection may not be the best answer.

Topical treatments, such as sealing wrinkle treatment, should be reviewed to determine if this less drastic solution could be the right one for you. A review of different topical treatments for wrinkles, deep and otherwise, can show you that some topical methods will give you the results you want without the expense or discomfort of injections.

Active Ingredients
According to the Mayo Clinic, the active ingredients found in most non-prescription anti-wrinkle creams have varying degrees of effectiveness. Because these over-the-counter creams are sold as cosmetics, they are not tested or regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. However, the chemicals contained in some of these compounds may have beneficial effects for some individuals. A review of the deep wrinkle treatments in topical creams and other products generally shows that most of the products contain some form of antioxidant, a chemical that neutralizes free oxygen radicals which can contribute to breaking down of skin cells and wrinkle formation.

Preparations that include tea extracts, retinol, and kinetin have been reviewed for deep wrinkle treatment, and their antioxidant properties may have some beneficial effects. Other chemicals found in deep wrinkle treatment product reviews include hydroxy acids (exfoliants that remove dead skin cells and promote the formation of new cells), coenzyme Q10 (a nutrient that helps regulate energy production in cells and may offer some protection against sun damage), and copper peptides (to enhance healing and stimulate collagen production).

Other Factors
The Mayo Clinic also recommends stopping smoking, protecting your skin from overexposure to the sun, and use of sunscreen and sunscreen-containing makeup as ways you can reduce formation of deep wrinkles. Review these treatments and preventative measures to see how they can fit into your regimen.

Collagen Creams and Other Treatments
Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in all animal skin cells. Some creams contain collagen that smoothes and fills in wrinkled areas to give a more even and youthful appearance to the skin. When combined with moisturizing agents, collagen creams can keep skin looking healthier. Moisturizing helps, since moisture-depleted cells can shrivel, promoting wrinkles. Collagen is also used in injection treatments to support skin tissue and discourage the formation of wrinkles. Injections, however, must be administered by a qualified medical professional. You should ask your doctor for details.
