Since our heart is the most vital organ in our body, naturally we would want nothing more than to protect it from harm. You might find it surprising to know that negative emotions such as frustration, worry, and anger put us more at risk for heart disease.

The most common emotions that link most people to heart disease are experienced at a higher percentage by women than men. The reason being is women are born with more intense emotions. Females feel feelings of joy more deeper than men, they also take setbacks and disappointments to heart more than men. Quite naturally these emotions of anxiety, depression, anger, and loneliness are more powerful and
detrimental to their heart.

Let's take a look at some reasons and solutions for each emotion.

Anxiety- Too much anxiety can lead to high blood pressure. We are all hardwired to worry, but even more so for women. Especially during the childbearing years. Some simple ways to calm anxiety is to slow down using methods like yoga, light exercise, walking, or meditation. Of course avoiding stress as much as possible is very helpful, mainly work related stress.

Depression- Being overly depressed can cause a hardening of the heart's arteries. There are many reasons for depression. Studies have shown that they are seeing a higher level of depressed people being linked to an abundance of stress hormones in the blood, that causes platelets of the blood, which eventually damage the blood vessels.

Ways to combat depression is to have an awareness of its symptoms that seems to linger on and on. Symptoms such as fatigue and insomnia. Develop a daily workout
habit of at lease 30 minutes per day. Also be sure to consume the proper amount of supplements.

Anger- Feelings of rage will put an extra strain on anyone's heart. Men and women feel the same amount but they express it differently. It doesn't matter if you express anger through gossip or an aggressive behavior you're still hurting your heart.
Harboring hostility put a strain on your blood vessels.

Conquer anger by expressing your thoughts and frustrations freely instead of holding them in. Then resolve the issue quickly. Take some time to do relaxing breathing techniques, or listen to some mellow music.

Loneliness- I'm not saying it is bad to be alone or loneliness is a bad thing. Only if you are feeling disconnected from the universe. Isolated loneliness not only makes the blood pressure rise, but it effects the immune system as well.

Resist loneliness by getting connected. Force yourself to join a group, preferably a hobby of your choice. Get a loving pet, get out to meet new people and make some quality friends.

Learn to mange your emotions to better protect your heart. Think positively instead of negative. Hang around more positive and like minded people that seems to have their lives in order.

Anxiety, anger, depression, and loneliness are the main emotions that has a negative effect on the heart. These same emotions are linked to the high rate of heart disease present in women. Ladies, get a grip on your emotions. Life is worth the effort.
