Based on gender, ADHD behaviours can be different:
- Girls tend to be inattentive while boys are mostly hyperactive.
- Inattentive boys often play or fidget aimlessly while girls dayream.
- Boys tend to be diagnosed earlier with ADHD because they are less compliant with adults.
Your child may have ADHD if his or her hyperactive, inattentive or impulse behaviour continue for more than six months. Also is you constantly hear feedbacks about his attitude in school. Constantly disrupting play, school, and other daily activities can be a sign of ADHD.

Most healthy children are hyperactive, inattentive, or impulsive at one time or another. Some normal 3-4 years old can't finish a short story from beginning to end. Some older kids are often restless but can sit for hours watching TV.
As for hyperactivity, young children are naturally energetic and often wear their parents out. They may become even more energetic when they're hungry, tired, or in a new environment.
Children should not be considered to have ADHD just because they have boundless energy. Even if they have some problems at school but are handle chores really well then it is not ADHD.
